This is a discussion on Enneagram Types (INFPs voting only please) within the INFP Forum - The Idealists forums, part of the NF's Temperament Forum- The Dreamers category; I typed equally as a 7 and 5 on a unprofessional/unofficial test but I identify most with 4 then 9 ...

    I typed equally as a 7 and 5 on a unprofessional/unofficial test but I identify most with 4 then 9 then 2 then 5.

I equally typed as a 5/6 on a very long, but unofficial test. Other times I get a 2. I identify most as a 5, though.

    How to find your Enneatype

Enneagram tests are absolutely useless. Not only do they focus on superficial aspects of every type (5s seek knowledge, 6s seek security, 7s wanna have tons of fun, 4s are dramatic), but keep in mind that there are NINE types out there. If you take a test that is relatively short, that's like 2-3 questions for each type. It's not enough, not nearly enough to determine your enneagram type.

Enneagram is about, not the behavior (which is something most tests and descriptions focus on) but the motivations underlying it. Why you behave the way you do, what is the basic drive/fear behind your actions - is more important than the behavior itself. Focusing on these is what's going to help you find your enneatype, nothing else. Believe me, it's really worth it to figure out your type, you'll discover a lot of unexplored potential within yourself.

I suggest you read up more on the different types from these sources in order to figure out your correct type (the few Enneagram sources out there that are reliable):

    1. Typewatch Enneagram

    2. The Enneagram Blogspot

    3. the enneagram ...info from the underground

To the 9 other achievers, we should start brainstorming and exchanging notes for Max Success, Fame, Glory, Legacy, Advancement, Status, and World Domination.

I've actually never been sure of my Enneagram, mostly because all of the tests I have taken have been Rate this trait on a scale of 1-5" and I'm not good with that stuff >:/ Does anybody know a decent Enneagram test?

I got 1w9. I would of thought I'd be 2 or 9, but after giving it some thought, this seems pretty accurate.

Apparently, I took the test and I got Type 5. I'm not sure; I can relate to Type 2 a lot, though.
