    The pursuit of happiness (not)

I'm going to try to keep this short and simple.

I'm not pursuing happiness anymore; it's not the point of my life on this world.

I want to produce; not the industrial, modern day producer-consumer sense...

I want to give ideas, knowledge, and things(tangible and intangible) to the world that will heal it and flourish it from the inemotional and unjust swamp that humanity is sinking into.

Does anyone relate or understand? (or am I standing alone on a tiny island with a little palm tree and stuff? xD)

Wouldn't giving ideas, knowledge and things that will help the world to be a better place make you happy anyway? =)

    @Runemarks
Well....yes and no xD I think it would make me feel more like content, which is not happiness, but can easily be confused with happiness...this doesn't make sense xD

Feeling content is when you feel like your spirit is calm and relaxed, because there is no guilt, just that you have put all your effort into something good, not for you, but for others.

But then, I'm not really going after feeling content, I want to live to change the world positively, so the next generation won't grow up to be a passive consumer with a lifetime goal of making their life happy, like us.
If we can change the next generation into active producers that aim to make everyone care about the good of their planet and others, not only will we save our species from injustice, we would get a side of feeling immensely content; how I feel like isn't the goal, it's just a good side effect. :P

It's a beautiful explanation and a beautiful goal. Just the thought of working to reach it gives me a warm feeling inside and makes me feel motivated, so I guess I wouldn't be that bad if, instead of pursuing happiness, I contributed somehow to save the world from its aimless, superficial and unproductive fate!

I tend to see happiness as a process and not a destination that you reach when you finally get what you want. You don't pursue happiness by going for a goal. You happily pursue your goal and often that goal changes over time.

Also there's also two types of happiness: natural happiness and synthetic happiness.

Why thank you kind sir =)

I was just throwing the idea around to see if someone's willing to form an unofficial group or something; some things you can't do alone, so :P

You don't need a Weatherman to know which way the wind blows.

I think I get it. Kind of more of a "what can I give to the world?" approach than a "what can I get from the world?" one.

At the same time though, I think it is easier to find happiness sometimes when you're not trying to find it anymore.

Yes I know where you are coming from. I personally have no interest in pursuing happiness, it is like pursuing an emotion. I prefer contentment, or perhaps something authentic, which may or may not give rise to happiness.
