Coming from an ENFP
Honestly I wish I could just be friends with you all. It pains me to see you guys have such low self esteem though...
whats going on in your heads?
And we all want to be friends with you. It's what makes us happiest.
Too much goes on in our heads to ever simplify down into a concise answer to the question. Hell, half the time the thought's already gone by the time I try to identify what it was about.![]()
Well, all types can have low self-esteem. It isn't an INFP thing. Don't feel bad for us based on a generalization.
I want you to know that at least for me just hearing someone say INFPs are great people is a self esteem boost. Thank you. =3
I have this thing about fearing arrogance...it's hard for me to be proud at all without feeling like I'm getting a big head and other people will look down on me for it. So I put myself down because in a sense I believe it makes me a better person. Which is not necessarily true, but I know that's what's in my subconscious.
Low self-esteem? We are pretty special and awesome (as are you, BTW!) We just don't like bragging about how good we feel about ourselves. :)
The above wasn't sarcastic in any way or shape. I don't believe INFPs must have low self-esteem, we just have perfectionist tendencies (which at times may make a few INFPs feel as if they are not "good enough"), and as I said, many of us hate gloating over any achievements, etc. We just know we are good, and that's enough. Many INFPs despise showing off. I am proud of myself, but need not state it all the time. I used to have low self-esteem, but I learned to love and appreciate the beautiful person I am.
Bear in mind that we are all growing and developing, so perhaps that INFP that doesn't love himself/herself today might very well be able to do so tomorrow. :) As he/she should!
I used to be like you, so yes, it's not true. What you are practicing is not "humility", but self-deprecation. You are special, and you should fall in love with yourself-as crazy "vain" as that may sound. Trust me, you'll be happier realizing this.
I am not arrogant, BTW, but I deserve my own love-as you deserve your own, to the utmost.
Also, I just wanted to let all you other INFP's know, that I am extremely proud to be considered the same type as you. You're all such beautiful people, it warms my heart to see such caring & feeling in others.
/sappy moment.![]()
