    Weird
to find that perseverance and kindness don't usually go together
If a person perseveres too much, then they are more misanthropic.
So, they are cynical and they can be more judgmental?

Post any of your wonderful insights. Don't be scared, introverts. Introversion and Introspection are the most beautiful things that have happened to me.

I don't quite understand what you mean here. A person who perseveres can't be kind? Why not? How are these two related? What I'm guessing is that you're trying to say something like the more you put yourself out there, the more you have room to fail and get cynical/negative. Though by the definition of the word, one who perseveres, is one who will push away this negativity and keep going. Where does kindness come in? I'm not judging your thoughts or saying you're wrong, just wanting you to elaborate :)

Personal experience. My mom persevere a lot, but she's inwardly very judgmental. I persevere a lot less than her, so I'm less judgmental. Actually, my mom is very kind, but she just can't empathize...because people relax too much. Therefore, I'm connecting empathy with kindness.

Hello. I have no theories. I just want to increase my post count by making short, stupid statements like this. Forgive me. And you dont have to thank me. For I am not a thankwhore. (even though sometimes it really seems like it)
wow, my mom is doing the dishes and all, and my dad is cleaning up the livingroom. Wait a minute... Livin... Groom... :o

@perkele : I'm not a thankwhore either. Every time I got a thanks, though, I felt a lot better about myself.

Hm. Maybe what you see is that somebody who perseveres is less sensitive to possible or real negative consequences of their actions, so they are less empathetic? I don't know if I agree, but it makes a little more sense. What I see is that somebody persevering is a more personal and less person-to-person thing so it shouldn't really have anything to do with how they deal with people but more how they deal with themselves, but maybe that is too black-and-white. I guess the way people deal with themselves is not completely independent of how they deal with other people.

Ha, thanks! That's sweet. I will, as soon as I think of something I feel is developed enough so I'd be comfortable sharing. :)

Water is like a cheap whore. It's in everyone of all colors, creeds, and ages. H20. Take the 2 out and you're left with a HO. My god...

Nah, just yanking chains. I'm not very insightful right now. I wish I was. I shall soon return hopefully. If not, remember my name fondly.

Is the ego really such a bad guy? If you go by a theory of Freud's, it's just a middle man. Trying to balance between the id and superego. In many relgions though (Although in Judaism they practically have the same views that Freud used) the ego is what causes all the grief. What if perhaps, and I agree with many of the Buddha's teachings so this theory is more of a stretch just for the fun of it, the Buddha just let his superego do all the talking, which is why we bash the ego nowadays.
