Are there any INFP's who have considered co-writing?
It seems to me like this would force the issue.

I've always wondered how co-writing a novel would work out. I can't really imagine it, though. I think two authors, no matter how well they get along and respect/admire each other's work, would eventually but heads with a joint project.
I think it could be amazing if each of the two (or three to force resolution) is careful to internalize what the other/others wrote (and why).
Some trauma is inevitable.
I always thought that Stephen King was INTP. So therefore, all INTPs can definately finish a novel because the personality type allows it. INTP also only write in the Horror genre. INFP can't finish anything, ever.
Sorry for the cold welcome. Seriously though, saying that you can't write a novel because you heard that INFPs can't finish things, and that any suspected INFP work of literature must have been INFJ instead, well... sounds completely ridiculous. This whole typology thing is a tool to help us understand why we do and think a certain way in a general sense. It doesn't define us.
Forgive me for not reading all the posts to see if this is mentioned. It worth mentioning more than once.
National Novel Writers Month is November. Writers are challenged and encouraged to write a 50,000 word novel as part of a community in the month of November.
www.nanowrimo.org is where you can get information and sign up for the 2012 event.
I've heard Albert Camus was one and he finished several and he got a Nobel too :)
While some of us can do things and just never finish, many MANY writers, cartoonists, etc. are INFP's. They managed to finish.
What I have trouble doing is juggling real life with writing. Life always gets in the way......
I don't know, can you?
This is like saying "I'm a Taurus, can I write a novel?"
It's up to you and your commitment, not your personality.
Of course you can!
I used to have trouble finishing what I wrote as well, but I did it! Of course, I still have to get around to editing, but...it's totally possible! I tried NaNoWriMo as a way to force myself to finish a novel. Failed two years in a row, but was successful on the third try!
Try setting a limit for yourself. If you're not comfortable with NaNoWriMo, you can do something similar, but with an extended period. Think, "I HAVE to finish this story by X day."
The secret is to keep writing, even if it totally sucks or doesn't even make sense. Just force the scene to go on. It will be awful, but you'll be able to get ahead and reach an end. When you reach the end, you can go back and fix everything. Voila, novel!
Also, there are a bunch of INFP writers. John Green, a YA novelist, is a confirmed INFP.
Personal testimony, @Konobeat
I'm generally renowned for my lack of follow-through. Yet I just finished writing a 300-page book completely self-directed. It's not fiction; it's a dissertation. The next step after the defense is to revise the manuscript and find a publisher.
So true story. INFPs can accomplish extended writing projects, including research ones. It can be done and I did it. :)
