    Were you always an INFP?

I feel like I was an INTP or an INTJ before, because I honestly was very insensitive as a child. I mean, I still had very strong values... I don't know. Maybe I was counter phobic? I was brutally honest. Something changed that, I guess. But then again, I also wasn't purposefully mean, I just stood up for my beliefs in an aggressive manner. Ah, well, I'll never know. I only hear stereotypes about T types. I remember once, when I got a birthday gift from one of my parent's friends, I said "Well, I don't know if I like it."
That's not very INFPish, now is it?

Question is, have you ever been another type? Can type even change?

According to the theory, type cannot change (detailed more here). Perhaps you refer to early age in which you were still young and trying out the different functions for size? Note all that a person can use all 4 functions (in both directions) but has a preference for the functions in their stack, making it easier to use those. And in case you're wondering, your stack is also "fixed" and cannot change either.

    IMHO, type is inborn.

I was always INFP, I just didn't know it yet.

In addition to what @snowbell said, I kindly ask you to rid yourself of Keirsey's ridiculous stereotypes. Verbalizing that you don't like a gift does not make you less of an INFP, neither does being "insensitive".

Yeah I was allways the way I am. In recent years I have become more bold, more daring and agressive. I feel like I was more the soft mushy INFP when I was younger, even somewhat in highschool. But at the same time there was allways a fierceness in me, but I repressed it, and like all repressed things it shows up in compulsive, sometimes destructive behavior.

There were certain moments in my life that really broke me, hardened something in me. I think it was those moments when I really realized fully my strength, and realized that my agressiveness can be used in constructive ways. My whole life yeah I've allays been INFP without knowing it, but I have grown, and I will continue to grow, as you and everyone will. Goodluck on your journey!!!
