    Mistyped for Over Two Years

I was mistyped as INTP for over two years. I consistently test borderline T/F. I realized three days ago that I'm really INFP. These are my results on the cognitive processes test:

Was this test the catalyst for your realization? Or do you genuinely identify with the profile of dominant introverted feeling?

No, I genuinely identify with the INFP profile.. There are a number of reasons why I was confused about whether I was T or F. It's complicated... I recently met an older INFP who said he knew I was NF, that he could "see" the real me.. And I think he's right.

Rock on then. All I have to say is congratulations on finding the type you most identify with.

For me, it was Fi and Ne which sealed the deal.

I lived most of my life without these two categories, to my dismay when I found out.

    But, it's all good now.

One question, though.. Are there any of you who thought the idea of having imaginary friends as a child was silly so never had any?

Not all INFP's have imaginary friends, befriend unicorns and shit rainbows Okay, except maybe for the rainbow part.

Welcome to INFP land. Forget the stereotypes!

I've always been borderline too and always tested INFP in keys2cognition (same as you, about 39 Ti, 40 Fi, and Ne higher than both). I think some people are just Ji doms with equal Fi/Ti.

I still test as INTP more often than anything else. I didn't really mistype because I never identified with any type until I was pretty sure of it (and I became quite sure after reading the Van Der Hoop & Jung descriptions of Fi). INTP just never fit right, and I had to properly grasp what Feeling was to see myself as a Feeling type.

And no, I never had imaginary friends as a child. I did and still do create people in my head as a part of ongoing stories/worlds I explore, but as a child it either never occurred to me or appealed to me to act as if one of these was real. I mostly channeled it into make-believe with friends, into the personalities of my Barbies, or some kind of art (I drew comic strips, among other things). I'm pretty sure I would have scoffed at the idea of having a Hobbes-like friend, although Bill Watterson was something of a hero to me as a cartoonist.
