    Careers you’ve considered??

I'm so curious to know how many careers paths you've consider (or are still contemplating)? 1, 2, 50? What are they?

    Mine are:

    -Counselor
    -Social Worker
    -Art Therapist
    -psychoanalyst
    -Nutritionist
    -Yoga instructor
-Cafe/floral shop/music venue/vintage clothing store owner (not necessarily all in one, but perhaps.)
    -Run a B&B

I'm still seriously considering most of these.

    PORN STAR

Nah I've often wondered about what I would like to do and never really felt certain of course. I'm still young :)

I considered getting into Plumbing apprenticeship.
I thought about part time busking but I don't think I really want to do that, I perform for myself more than anything and if I had to perform for others i'd have to make sure i've perfected what I play.
Psychologist, I got accepted into local Uni and will be studying psychology, so will see how that goes.
    Music Shop employee/owner
    Fireman
more im sure but I can't think of any more.

    Novelist, video game designer.

I'm really more interested in my fantasy worlds than the real one, so I don't think I'd be able to enjoy a job which doesn't involve them. The problem is that I don't see the point in actually communicating them if no one shows any interest, so I don't think I'd be able to finish a project without continuous positive feedback... which can be hard to find without making it publicly available while you're working, in which case you can't expect to get it published.

Also, no one is interested in hiring innovators into the game industry. They'd rather just hire programmers and graphic designers to push out an endless supply of the same type of game forever. I can't handle routine work, so I really only have a chance if I somehow manage to make an indie game. I can't draw and I don't like programming, though...

I haven't considered many careers seriously because I can think of so many possibilities.

    Musician
    Politician

Are the leading options in my life right now.

    Jobs I have had
Advertising media buyer - I don't recommend this, lived in Manhatten for 2 years, rough
Critical Care RN - Tough job, but there is a reason for high burnout in nurses
IR RN - very laid back, put people under conscious sedation, I loved that. Again repetitive
Currently housewife - I know people are going to roll their eyes at this, but critical care was less stressful. My worry for my kids is constant, making sure I schedule all their extracurricular activities, discipline, dealing with their mood swings (when I'm not Ms. Sunshine at times myself, homework, teachers, cleaning the house, cooking. My life revolves around them.

I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up, oh well.

Oh my god, there's so many i've considered

When I was a small kid I wanted to be a Hollywood actress
Shortly after a fashion designer and this remained a passion for many, many years after, I still have my portfolio of old designs.
    A lawyer
    Music journalist
    Talent spotter
    Social research
    Therapist
    Massage therapist/creative hairdresser/makeup artist
    Comedy sketch writer
    Support worker
    A lone self employed artist
    A DJ
Considered living away from the grid and becoming a philosopher(hahaha)
    A vetinary nurse
A third world country aid worker e.g red cross

Some of these are still considerations.

Pretty sure the very first thing I wanted to do was be a serving wench at Medieval Times.

Through childhood: elementary school teacher, high school English teacher, fashion designer, pediatrician, lawyer (I loved Legally Blonde, haha), painter.

Now, I'm mainly considering writer and editor/somebody in publishing. If I go to grad school, I'd like to train to be an ABA therapist. I also want to be a farmer. :3 I'm really interested in permaculture.
daywithoutrain, Zebedee, Wheeze and 3 others thanked this post.
