    Do you pace a lot?

Hello everyone. I've been wondering for a while how many other people pace a lot during the day. I never really notice when I do it but many people tell I do it often. I can't really keep still when I'm standing either. I know I'm a very anxious person so I don't know if its mostly INFP thing or do others do it. I'd love to know what are your MBTI and when do you catch yourself and why you think that is.

Yes. It's my favorite thing and it annoys everybody.

yeah I do it all the time, especially when I'm thinking about something really intently, it just happens like a reflex. haha

people get mad at you for pacing?

now I'm curious if I've been annoying people for my whole life :P

All the time. No idea if it's an INFP thing, but I definitely do it.

In general, I just can't be still. I pace back and forth waiting for the bus. I also will tap my fingers on tabletops a lot, shake my legs/feet, talk with my hands, and other stuff like that.

I pace while imagining tihngs and while I am talking on the phone or desribibing things to people. When I am thinking I get very active. Sometimes I run around the house or pick up anything nearby and start fiddling with it. It drives my mother insane.

I actually saw in a video on youtube about Te that this is a sign of extroverted thinking. In order to help us access our thinking, maybe it helps to us to move or interact with the environment.

Lol I was the same way. I'd pick something up and start swinging it around and my mother hated it. I had to learn the hard way. I accidentally hit an ornamental glass off the ceiling fan and ... well the mark on my face reminds me to look up before swinging things around.
That's interesting I always felt it helped my thinking process.

Not necessarily. I'm not sure if it annoys them but recently some people have called me out on it and I've become much more aware when I do it. They might just think its peculiar though.

All the time. When I'm being forced to stand around while other people socialize I'll probably just be walking back and forth thinking about things. I used to hate it when I was little and my parents would talk and talk to people and I would just have to stand there. It still happens, but now instead of my parents its a couple that I volunteer with who help give me a ride. We spend almost a half hour after we're done working talking to their friends. Just like when I was a kid, I start imagining things and sometimes I get carried away entertaining myself and I'll start acting silly and laughing out loud and looking like a total goof. But I've got to do SOMETHING besides just stand around looking at my feet.

Me too haha. I started excersisng alot because the way i see it, when you excersise you release all that energy and it doesnt rebound back into our heads in the form of racing thoughts daydreams anxiety etc. or maybe im just too tired to think afterwards. either way...clear head....so im marking it as a WIN
