@modernclassical - that's really interesting that you test like that. Why do you think you identify more as an INFJ than an INTJ, like you test?

I think there's this moment that many of us share when we tested as INFJ, read the description and our jaws dropped to the floor. I can't help but identify with the INFJ description. My intuition plays a prominent role in my life, I'm incredibly interested in others, I'm constantly evaluating other people's emotional states, I am always interpreting meaning, I have a global perspective, I suffer from exhaustion when subjected to large groups of people, my empathy is out of this world (to the point of SOBBING during coffee commercials), I feel particularly alone, particularly unique, I'm an iceberg and no one will ever know how deep and intense my inner life is.

I can relate to the INTJ description, particularly with their proclivity to system-building, assessing systems and finding ways to improve. I ruthlessly apply this type of thinking to myself, and everything (at restaurants, on public transportation, reading the newspaper, ALWAYS.) I value logic, and it is also an interest of mine. I'm a goofball- I love to laugh and make jokes, which requires an indexical logic system, or the negation of logic. I'm an art student, which has helped develop my critical thinking skills. As far as I can remember, I've used objectivity as a safe place to understand what is happening in my life. Being an INFJ, I sometimes get so lost inside of my head, and overwhelmed by emotion that I seriously lose sight of FACTS. Taking the time to think rationally about my current state of affairs is challenging, doesn't help me cope any faster, but it helps me grab onto something in the real world, something earthly, and is the part of my personality that protects me.

If you look at my percentages of T versus F, it's always within a 3% margin of being dead even. And I truly feel I am as emotional as I am rational- in terms of the amount of time I use either function, and the intensity. However, my Feeling is absolutely inextricable from who I am, any less and I would be completely different- it's my skeleton. My Thinking has been something that was natural to me, but that I've also put lot of time into developing.

So weird....did you write that...or did I???? haha. I swear I identify with every single one of those things! (Especially the commercial thing...there was this Johnson&Johnson commercial a while back with a bunch of babies...I was a sobbing mess by the end of it every time. lol)

I used to think I was an ISFJ because I used to test more in Sensing, but a couple of years ago I began reading about INFJs and had that moment you're talking about. Since then I've become significantly less Sensing and more Intuition.

Also, my name is Monica Ruth. Monica, which is either derived from the Latin word for "counselor"/"adviser", or the Greek word meaning "solitary". Ruth means "compassion"/'pity"/"mercy". If that doesn't say INFJ, I don't know what does...
