Maybe if you did tracking eye movements tied to cognitive functions rather than personality type, since we all use the cognitive functions..it would be a matter of who used what more!

    Yes, that would be nice.
It's too bad I have no clue how to do that... Lol!

Your MBTI letters are only the sum of their parts. In this case, Functions.
However, there isn't a way to isolate each function that I'm aware of.

Though N is the deciding factor in how much movement there is.

what would be good for this type of experiment is to have a group of people (posibly 3 or more people in all of the functions Si, Se, Ni, Ne) and have it in a controlled enviroment. Maybe an empty room, then have someone come teach a boring lesson, then bring someone that teaches an exciting lesson. Put distractions around the room. etc maybe see what exactly makes each function shift it's attention away from the subject. Is it music, colors, smells, thinking. etc. You can do lots of different types of tests if you have a controlled inviroment. :)

Please someone research this area with real eye tracking devices. Cannot believe it is not akready ongoing. Imagine how mich money could be made in recruitment or other areas of psychological assessment. Can someone get some entjs over here?

I suppose you could use whatever's most dominant for that type. But...all the types use all the functions at one time or another, which is why you'd have to know what they were thinking while you were tracking the eye movements. I guess it would become more of a "which function am I using now?" experiment than a "what type am I by the eye movements I use?" experiment. (Unless its true that the function you use most = the dominant function for your type, and you could figure it out that way...)

This is brilliant!! Thanks so much for sharing, I'm going to have to do some experimenting myself on this one. A couple of weeks ago I was at a concert and in the lobby I saw this girl across the room constantly scanning her environment...like I was. I had a hunch she was ENFP or ENTP so I approached her and started talking to her and 20 minutes in I typed her pretty confidently as an ENFP. It was fascinating to me that an Ne dom could be picked out of a crowd simply by body language. As @affezwilling said, I think this would be a lot easier if you were to target cognitive functions. For instance:

ENTP's and ENFP's would have a little variation as the ENTP would most likely be bringing their focus back to the person more than the ENFP due to the Fe making the ENTP want to study their audience and adjust accordingly.

These are the kinds of things that would help make this really accurate but it sounds like you've got a really great start!
