    Four

    Of every quarter of time
    There is a beat intertwined
It happens in a blinking of an eye
Perpetual motion deeper than the mind
So wonderful is this desire to find
    The mysterious truth behind
    The beat of the rhyme

So much awesomeness in this thread! :)
As some kind of thank you, I offer you the better one of the two poems I've written in English:

    (no title)

we used to be young and carefree
    and roam the green wilds
on small feet and fast bikes
and never did we grow weary

we used to believe the great stories
    and slew the bad witch
    and made the knave rich
    and reveled in imagined glories

we used to walk brave and clueless
    and all that we saw
    we looked at with awe
and marvelled at so much newness

    Soulmate,
You speak as a true guiding light,
An understanding of why I even know the universe,
Like you have always been there,
You just came making your light clearer,
    I love you,
It is neither dependence nor neediness,
    It is just finally understanding,
Our love has no start no end,
I can philosophize about wonders of universe,
    To no end,
But birth and universe and life for me,
All concepts make me intertwined with you,
    I just love you,
Not a care for what others may say or think,
I will love you and burn stars,
Hours and lights and papers and hands,
Just to bring life to your eyes,
Just to bring you that meaning,
When you said I am your meaning,
It is not just a love letter that never ends,
It is a beginning of a letter,
    An understanding of our universe,
    That never stopped,
    My eternal love,
    Never will we truly part.

This is a poem I found in our local history section of the library while I was looking for other things

It is by a soldier from my town who fought in Vietnam who saw his best friend killed. He expressed his feelings about it and the people at home in a letter that he sent to a friend.

    "No War In Vietnam"

Take a man and put him alone
Put him 6000 miles from home.
Empty his heart of all but blood,
Make him live and sweat in mud.
There is a life I have to live,
And while my soul to the devil I give,
You free boys swing in your easy chair,
But you don't know what it's like over here.
You all have a ball without trying,
While over there our boys are dying.
You burn your draft cards, march at dawn,
Plant your signs on Parliament lawn.
You all want to ban the bomb...
There is no war in Vietnam.
Use your drugs and have your fun,
And then refuse to carry a gun.
There is nothing else for you to do,
Am I supposed to die for you?
    I'll hate you till the day I die;
You made me hear my mate cry.
    I saw his arm in a "Bloody shred";
I heard them say "This one is dead."
It's a heavy price he had to pay,
    Not to live another day.
    He had the guts to fight and die;
He paid the price, but what did he buy?
He bought a life by giving his,
But who gives a damn what a soldier gives?
His wife, his mum, maybe his son,
But they're about the only ones.
There is no war in Vietnam.

Dreams dreams where have you gone
    Where are my dreams
Generations lived their dreams and left us with nothing
Dreams dreams I try to hold onto you
I try to believe in you because you're all that I have
    You're all that I want
You're all that's worth living worth
Without my dreams life is not alive
    Destroy the obstacles dreamers
    Keep dreaming and never stop
Destroy what gets in your way
Dream like if anything is possible
Let go of what's in your way
    Everything can go away
    My dreams will forever stay

    The First Step

    From a whisper
    I discover escape
    And wander in
    The new questions

    Insomnia

The intuitive beast in me roars
Sleep forsaken, I gaze into the void.
    Endless intricacies beckon.

    * * *

    Mice paws patter
    like endless chuckles.
    Sleep? Ha! Sleep? Ha!

    * * *

    Mellow light
    Through eyelids closed, seeks
    Dreams brighter still...

    Every crawl of loneliness,
    Every flood of searching,
    Every dark rain,
    There you'll still be,
    A glimmering light,
    Protection, love, meaning,
    A knowing that is quiet,
    But constant,
    I love you.
bubbleboy, infpetal, eros5th and 1 others thanked this post.
