This happens to me each and every time I finally have to give someone a piece of my mind after I've had it. The guilt ensues. Ugh...

I'm also happy to hear that you've realized your strength in being able to deal with his nature; kudos to you! And please keep taking pride in such a feat because it takes a well-rounded, self-aware person to deal with egotistical, control freaks such as that one ENTJ guy I talked about. As for me, I don't think I can stomach him much because I still have work to do on my front. If anything, I'm grateful he and I crossed paths because it's made me more glaringly aware of how much work I need to do on being a more patient and tolerant person. Anyway, I'm happy to have found this forum to share experiences, ask questions, and just ruminate openly with my fellow INFJs. Love you all!
Absolutely! I can completely understand your position with regard to not being able to stomach him; we have reached that point many times and in those moments when I've turned away from his once toxic influence, I realized that had I not been around him, spoken to him and been there to both hear and experience such ego-driven drivel, I wouldn't be nearly as healthily skeptical or as my bff INFJ calls it "feisty" as I am now. It is all to do with progression as an individual and though we have to be brave enough to "call it" when verbal dissection or abuse has reached a critical point, we have the amazing ability to adapt quickly and unpredictably, almost like a scorpion bringing around its stinging tail to drive in the poison which for those who dish it out, can act like a "medicine" and neutralize their exaggerated self-promotion.
I wish you unshakable strength and unwavering determination; it seems now I have found a way to balance and make my position known to my friend to the point where I seem to be the one with the directness and mild sarcasm that is characteristic of his own persona.
And to add to this thread: You know you're an INFJ when you tap into your Animus's energy reserves to deliver a well-deserved knockdown to an unsuspecting rabble rouser.

You know you're an INFJ when you post your own concerns in the Counsel for Counselors thread, and then you can't leave without helping someone else with theirs.

I also abhor unsafe people, especially when they don't consider the repercussions of their actions when other people are possibly in danger due to an absent thought process.

I was complemented last year on Bonfire Night (5th November, UK Holiday) for being safe with the fireworks. It was an odd comment if I'm being honest, and it sort of stood out. It made me appreciate it that much more.
nothing gets my goat more than apathy.

That's a little bit different but I still agree with you.

Also your signature gets my attention. While thinking 'Hmm, this is very T-oriented compared to most of what I see here', I found myself agreeing with most of it. What does this mean?
Do you ever think perhaps you are NTJ type?

I think it's the same. Being 'too lazy' to think something through or try to learn something - it's what happens in repeated failure+punishment with not enough success+reward to balance it out.

    Yes.

    I'm not.

LOL I feel this way about Dr. Cox on Scrubs. I heard he's an ENTP, but even before I knew what that meant I was still tripping all over myself because of how hilarious and awesome he is. Such a disgruntled little scene stealer.

I'd mend that asshole's heart but good.
