When you and you're best friend both know you are too detached from the rest of the world to ever be close to eachother, but you enjoy having someone who understands you and is detached rather than someone who isn't and doesn't understand.

I don't know if this was already said or if it's just me. But I secretly envy those who make friends easily. Most of the time I'm extremely quiet ...For many reasons... and sometimes come off as aloof. I always smile and try to make small talk. But... Because I don't say much back, people think I don't want to be friends. When I really do. Its just my energy is just largely mental.

Also, I'm a good giver, but not a good reciever. I hardly ever go shopping for myself. If I do, I always end up taking things back unless it's cheap. Whenever people try to give me gifts, I'm always like "Nooo, take it back! Don't spend your money on me". I just feel greedy if I accept them. I feel if other people can live with less, so can I. But in a way I'm being selfish. Its like I'm cheating others out of the joy of giving. I'm saying in a sense "I am wonderful and prosperous enough to give to you. You, however, are not proserpous enough to give to me."
