You get in trouble as a kid for carrying home a dead bird because its death makes you so sad that you want your family to have a funeral for it.
Your parents send you as an ambassador for peace when your brother has a temper tantrum.
Your family tells you that you are the sweetest, most considerate person in the family, and when you tell them that you're actually really mean and judgmental and try to make people feel bad sometimes, they crack up, and say, no no, you are the peacemaker.
You understand other people's emotions quickly and deeply and are therefore hurt and confused when other people don't understand yours. You think that they must not care about you or respect you.
You are peaceful and easygoing 95% of the time, but the other 5% of the time you are an emotional wreck.

Yes, totally to empath and jawz!! (Feeling personally hurt when idealists are bashed, and oscillation from open book to mysterious ending in guilt about both.)

Tsuki, Adamantya, Jawz and 2 others thanked this post.

When you find yourself starting to tear up over how beautiful the starry night sky is. Makes no since but it's happened to me, lol.

Also, when you pick a dazed bat up with your bare hands from the parking lot to keep it from getting run over by a car.

When a conversation goes down like this.

    Other person: Hi.
    Me: Hello.
Other person: Wow, this weather has changed very quickly, I wonder if it's gonna rain later.
Me: (Thinks to self, ok I have now tuned you out until you say something other than small talk just so I would talk to you and also waiting for you to say something relevant.)
Me actually answering: Yeah weather is unpredictable I usually just go with the flow. :)

I can relate, maybe you shouldn't be so hard on your friend. I often feel dark and stormy, but have been flighting like crazy to see the sun. When I am at my best, I bring out the best in others. Others in my life are at a low place and need me to help them see the light...

Yesterday I felt dark, today I feel bright. Tomorrow I will fight to see the light! For me happiness comes in the ability to help others...

I've done this, but it was a sparrow and I watched it get hit into shock. It was laid in the road not moving, but I noticed it wasn't run over. Before I picked it up, I didn't know whether it was dead or not. It was blinking but would not fly or stand up. I decided to take about a mile detour to the vet... but on the way, it up and flew out of my hands.

It's very INFJ to not forget such a thing.

Thanks! I've already thought of so many more!! Just found about this, but I am astounded by how so many of these posts sound so much like me, and that other people (who are not me) have written them, so, in flagrant self-indulgence:

You are astounded by how much these posts sound like they are about you, but you still doubt that anyone else could relate to your post (out of experience of people failing to resonate with your writing/feelings)
The first thing you did after finding out you were INFJ (after reading about it a bit) was try to figure out what type all of your friends might be, so that you could understand them better
You are afraid that by posting twice you are compromising too much of your mystery
When you showed your favorite movie to your siblings, at the end of the movie they groaned and threw a pillow at you
You really want to hate people who trample on your values (mega-rich real estate investors, politicians who tell blatant lies, people who are cruel), but it's a struggle because you understand too well (or think you understand) how they got to be the way they are, and what they might be feeling
You feel a tremendous inner turmoil between the part of you that is committed to fighting for justice (no rest allowed!) and the part of you that just wants to sit around for hours in the sun
You read poetry until very late at night trying to get something more out of the day, and even though you find amazing poetry, no poem is perfect enough to save you from eventually going to sleep disappointed

Still, maybe this is all just me. Anyway! I greatly appreciate this site and feeling less crazy than usual.

How might you judge, have you flown the same journey as this sparrow? Are you a sparrow? The importance here, you stopped... Where might your true wealth lay?

I saved a butterfly the other day. At least, I think I did. It was floating around in a puddle of water, and I carefully scooped it up on my finger and put it in a dry place.

Ha... you know you're an INFJ when, instead of feeling good that you got the butterfly out of the water, you just hope that it can still fly.
Aizar, Jawz, Vivid Melody and 1 others thanked this post.
