I think most introverts would prefer less "boystrous" animals, such as a cat. Cats are independent, reserved etc much like an INFJ. Like Rouge said, I think we're similar in temperament. I'm a mega shy INFJ so cats are great for me :)

I do love all animals and have always rescued them. Currently we have 5 horse all but one were animal rescues (the one that was not is my horse from when I was young so she is very old but I still love her very much and I got her then because no one else wanted her)
Then I have two dogs (White Sheppards, Lady and Tramp both animal rescues)
Then we have two turtles (found in the woods very sick, and now will only eat if hand fed so one could say they are animal rescues turtles live a long time so I often worry what will happen to them if they out live me, but my kids love them)
We had two cats (but we live in the country and they always wanted to go outside and the coyotes ate them so we stopped getting cats, that was awful and my kids were totally traumatized when that happened.)
Then of course we are a revolving foster home for tons of other displaced animals, those are just the ones we keep.
But most of all I love my horse, and then my dog Lady, she protects us very well, and I am grateful to her for that, she will even watch the kids, if my youngest stays under the water in the pool too long, she gets upset and tries to jump in and drag him to the shallow end. My mom calls her the nanny. So I guess I am a dog person more than a cat one.
Both my cats were strays that had been abused and starved and I took them in. I hate people who hurt animalsIt makes me sick.
My dog Lady, was so bad they were going to put her down. She had broken teeth and rocks in her stomach from having no food, she was supposed to be pit bull fotter, and was taken when they raided a dog-fighting ring. I was going to adopt a small dog, and ended up paying around 800 dollars on her vet bills, and got a German Sheppard Lab mix, but I would not trade her for the world, she is the best dog I have ever owned, and everyone says she is a perfect fit for me, and a lot like me, she will love you and be loyal to you no matter what, but God save anyone who tries to hurt me or the kids, and she never forgets anyone that did something bad to one of us, she never growls at anyone unless they are some one that has done something bad to us in the past, and those people she never ever forgets. She bit someone once for trying to hit me, and ripped their pants off their butt. It was priceless!!!!
One of our horses when we got him, he was so starved you could see every bone in his body it was sick, and they almost put him down but we asked to be given a try to save him, he could barley walk from his hooves being messed up, his eyes were matted up with pus from untreated conjunctivitis. I cried when I saw him, and spent so much time making him special food, but then he got so fat it was not healthy, he got to be a little piggy, would fight the other horses for extra food, then I had to put him on diet food, he is all good now, but he is a crack up. he is like Eore the donkey, but everyone loves him. We still call him fatty and he is a great horse for people to learn to ride on. I will have to get pics of my horse babies up :-)
People who hurt animals are just sick.
I am a cat person, but I do like dogs also.
both, when you want to get out and go exploring and generally being sillybuggers, then grab your dog. when you want to watch a dvd snug in your pjs and duvet, grab your cat. :)
I love all mammals! I've had both dogs and cats, and appreciate them both, but i feel more connected with cats. I feel they are more like myself in their temper. Got two cats now, and one of them actually has a personality that reminds me more of a dog. He is not as independent as cats in general, he is very social and not that reserved at all. My other cat is a "real cat". Weird, mysterious and doesnt cuddle up in the lap of a stranger. :)
DOGGIES!!They're my fave animals!!
Dogs and Kids! I don't know what it is with me!!

I just like pets in general but picking between cats and dogs I would pick a cat. Dogs seem to like me very much, but feeling is not quite mutual. They kinda tend to smell strongly and also I do have reservations about them since in childhood I got bitten a few times, so I am always cautious around dogs knowing that they have much bigger teeth that cats. I also like chickens very much (live ones, not cooked ones)
