@Sparky - I'm sorry, I must not have been clear...I was wondering why you think you are an INFJ.
This is a discussion on The Gently Honest Mistype Revelation Thread within the INFJ Forum - The Protectors forums, part of the NF's Temperament Forum- The Dreamers category; @ Sparky - I'm sorry, I must not have been clear...I was wondering why you think you are an INFJ....

You were very clear, so please ask if anything is unclear in the response. The response basically touches on how someone comes to know himself as an INFJ by knowing other INFJ, besides being able to differentiate among the personality types (for example, knowing which people belong to which type).
Right, I see that you've given your technique in typing someone as an INFJ, but I'm interested to hear what about yourself makes you believe you are an INFJ?
If you're willing to answer...
Why do you think you are an Ni-dom?
Why do you think you are an Fe-aux?
What in your life and in your character supports you being an INFJ (not outside sources- just those within yourself.)?
What sources did he use to learn about typing? That's the one I'd like to learn; I don't think I've read those before.
@Sparky
I like the interviewer in the second video, can anyone have a go at typing him?
Personality type is not an isolated quantity that can be defined without outside references to compare with, so to understand oneself, one has to understand how people are similar and yet different. In comparison with others, Ni-Fe can be inferred as having keen interest in the meaning of things to a degree that reverberates with the individual on an emotional level. For example, an INTJ might be interested in muscle cars to get a feel for the engine, at a level that is different from caring about how others feel or what they do. This is different from the interest of an INFJ, who will be wondering how others are doing, while the muscle car is just seen as a transient symbol for status and self-display. This example demonstrates how to truly understand an INFJ, one has to find how they are different from the other types.
Online descriptions of personality types and the MBTI offer a very insightful glimpse into the workings of the human mind, so if you know what you are looking for, you will be able to define it and construct reality that is more meaningful on a personal level. For example, people come to define "personality" by observing differences in behaviors and interest, which shows how surface manifestations of underlying mental processes are readily apparent. If you take this one step further and examine how each factor is different from another, you will visually find key areas of interest that can pinpoint to the personality type of someone. The sources of information for identifying people's personalities visually and acoustically is all around you, so you just have to realize what you are looking at. MBTI is a guide stone that opens doors, and you just have to walk through it.
Do you mean George Stroumboulopoulos? What particularly interests you about him? From the second video, which interviews M.I.A, George appears to be an ENTP.
Reading through this interaction, Sparky, it looks as though you are very avidly avoiding my questions.
I ask you something directed at you, and your answer is formatted in a detached rhetoric. I say "you," you reply with "one." I ask why you do something, and you reply why "a person" would do something.
I'm curious. Why are you using this rhetoric? It seems that you are not wanting to answer my questions directly. Is this because you do not know the answer? Or because you are not comfortable talking about yourself in this way? If so, you can absolutely decline to share; but since you answered, I figured you must be comfortable with it. But your answers are not answering my questions.
I want to know why you, the person behind the computer using the name "Sparky," think that you are an INFJ, in terms of cognitive functions (Why are you an Ni? Why are you an Fe?) and in terms of your personality as a whole.
When you respond by explaining how INFJs are to be typed, you simply are not answering the question I asked, but another question entirely.
I'd challenge you to talk about yourself in the first person when describing your type. Would you be willing to do that?
Your answer will be much less passive and much more clear, if you will.
Hey y'all! I posted a thread in the "what's my personality type" subforum if you're interested: INFJ? INFP? or what? I would love to hear your thoughts!
possible to be an ISFJ without using Si dom? or not?
