Would you forgive brother brother and help out out in this situation?

    Hey everyone

So my little brother (15 years old) is out somewhere with a friend and he called home like 30 minutes ago. I picked up the phone and he asked to speak to Mom or Dad, and I replied that they're not home. He then said okay, then is Paddy or Charlie home? (Our other brothers. I was wondering why he was willing to talk to everyone in our family, but me). So I asked him what it's about.
He said "Stop being an idiot and just get Paddy on the phone". To not submit to his brutish ways, I said, "Say please". Then eventually he said please. Then I stayed listening on the phone for a second to hear what he would say to his friend... He said in a forced overly masculine voice "He's suchhhh a FAGGOT". So.. I hung up the phone right away. He called like 20 times after and I never picked up.

Would you have done the same? Or would you have picked up the phone and done what he asked?

I wouldn't have hung up. I'd have spoken up.

I prefer direct confrontation... keeps things clean.

Yea, you are probably right. It's like a relationship between two people ending just because no one has the strength to talk to the other after a minor fight.

I'm just so tired today. I just hung up.

I probably would have done the same and then feel guilty about it afterward even though he deserved it.

I'd have done as he asked, then waited for him to get home, hit him over the head (no damage, just a "you're an idiot" punch) and told him not to use such a vulgar term when speaking about his older sibling, accompanied by a noogie for good measure.

    Trust me, I've done it.

Even if I knew he only said it to impress his douchebag friends.

Boom! You are a fortune teller!

I am now starting to feel KIND of guilty. As if it raining and thundering and dark and he's going to have trouble getting home.

Even though, he really does deserve it ;)

Haha, I wish. We INFJ's are just very similar so we react to things similarity. Plus, I have done that before. When my husband is being a jerk to me because he's really upset about something else I'll hang up and then listen to the phone ring a million times in a row after that. Of course that rarely ever happens but when it does I start to feel guilty partly because he's oh so good at seeing the error of his ways and apologizing that I feel so bad for ever being mad at him in the first place. And then when he asks me why I never answered the phone I'll be all like "uh...err...I didn't hear it."
"Oh you were downstairs? (we have one phone)"
    "mhmm"
    "what?"
    "*speaks slightly louder* "uh-huh"

Lol, lets hope your brother is good at apologizing too.

UPDATE! He just went to bed and we didn't talk to each other. We will probably act as if nothing happened tomorrow.

Thanks for replying to this thread despite the boat loads of typos I've been having :P

I would forgive.. duh you embarrassed him in front of his friend making him beg and stuff... You know he had to show off how he's cool. Words are words.. youre not close obviously, so get over it. My two cents.. brothers are blood... who cares what he says to his friends.
