    Biggest pet peeve . . .

So, what are your two biggest pet peeves?

I might have more than two... There are too many annoying things and people in the world.

    - People who say they are good and alright when they aren't.

    - When people ignore me, and give me a illogical answer as to why a reply wasn't given.

    - The news when they give incorrect information. Many people rely on that crap for enlightenment, and it's not very enlightening. World news tonight with Charlie Gibson is not world news, and it's often popular USA culture related, not the rest of the globe.

    - When I tell someone to repeatedly do something to better their lives and they don't have enough confidence to do so, and I end up saying the same shit over and over again

    - When I see or hear something is supposed to be scientific, and they just brush the surface of the issue.

TWO?! Hah! They are all equal.

.When people chew with their mouths open and I hear it. This is actually my worst pet peeve I think. All the following irritate me equally.

.When people brake in front of you with no cars in front of them, and I go "WTFZBBQ?!?!?!?!" And then they turn[without the signal of course].

.The line at the post office. Nothing more needs to be said I believe.

.When people have 17 items or more in the "Express lane, 10 or fewer items" line at the grocery market.

.When I go to turn the TV on, and the person who was on it previously left the volume on maximum cause their hearing is crap, and it kills my ear.

    .Chain bulletins on MySpace.

.Repeated spelling errors... obvious bad ones.. like the spelleng mistakes.. they're, their, there. Etc.

.When people leave their garbage on the table, or even worse... in my car.

.People that trim their nails, be fingers or toes, in public.

.Okay this one is real weird so bear with me. I leave everything in my room in a certain way. Examples. My zippers will remain 6.25 inches zipped from being unzipped[on luggage or jackets]. My chair will be rotated left 45 degrees from the left drawer on my desk. My pens will be touching two inches below the right side of paper/binder/book. My door will be slightly closed with something behind it(so if someone opens the door I'll know because my prop isn't there IE an article of clothing). My bathroom accessories will be placed in similar manners as above. So bottom line, pet peeve is when something is moved when I know it shouldn't be. And I'll notice it. Lol.

.When the obvious is stated, or something that doesn't need to be mentioned... is mentioned. Example. When I was visiting my grandma last week in Canada she says, "Don't place your wallet and leave it somewhere!" Or "You'll need your passport to go back to the US!" .... really? Or the occassional "Don't forget to wash your hands!" ....okay please remind me to wipe my @$$ too because I forgot to last time.

Oh and there are so many more that I don't even want to list.

People who believe things just for the sake of believing something without any solid foundation of evidence, logic, or reason.

Obnoxious people who do not when to leave others alone.

People who complain about things that they can easily change.

People who genuinely believe they are better than others.

    People in general.

    Oh, two?

Pet Peeve #1: When someone gives bad advice that causes the person who is already suffering to feel even more helpless.
Example A: "Just get over it, because dwelling on the problem gets you nowhere, and self-pity is unattractive." People who say this sort of thing don't understand that some people benefit from long periods of reflection and analysis, and are incapable of healing without it. Each of us recovers at whatever pace is natural. Shoving the feelings aside to comply with external pressures and expectations can make us feel even worse.
Example B: "You should have kicked the bully's ass." This kind of statement displaces blame from the perpetrator to the victim. Instead of saying "That person was wrong to hurt you," the person who makes such comments is essentially saying "You were wrong to let yourself be vulnerable. You are fully responsible for what others do to hurt you, and you deserve it for not being stronger." Clearly, this kind of attitude causes more harm than good, even when it is intended as helpful advice.
Example C: Someone says something hurtful like "You're a stupid moron," then attempts to pass it off as "constructive criticism" or "just being honest." I don't think this even needs an explanation.

Pet Peeve #2: When people try to use pseudo-intellectual "scientific" arguments to support their reasons for being prejudiced.
In the past, this was used to promote racism. Apparently, more grains of rice fit into a white person's skull than a black person's skull, so we must have bigger brains, and therefore greater intelligence. Supposedly, males are biologically programmed to select mates for superficial reasons, can't help it, because it is an instinctual response, and should all chase after pretty girls exclusively, regardless of whether an ugly girl might be more compatible in every other area. As everyone knows, we can't override our instincts, because we are dumb animals without moral responsibility. In fact, the strong are entitled to do whatever they want to the weak, because it is biologically beneficial to promote physical strength over spiritual integrity.

That reminds me... Can a person be counted as a pet peeve? Ayn Rand deserves honorable mention on my list.

    You are now my enemy.

  10. #10
    ENTJ - The Executives

Close minded people who refuse to listen to alternative views because they think they know everything.

Phone conversations like this: "Ok, talk to you later...oh wait!" and then the talking continues for another 30min.

Oh and I forgot one: When people who have no authority over me, tell me what to do.

And most of all when people tell me I CAN'T do something.
-to which I'll say, not only can I do it, but I'll do it better than you =P
