    Music and Daydreaming

I never knew that INFJs were known for being dreamers, but I suppose that explains why I'm such a day dreamer. So I wanted to know when is everyones favorite time to day dream and do you have anything particular that you like to listen to when let your mind wander? I love day dreaming on long car trips because I can just sit in the back with some headphones on and not be bothered. Animal Collective and Ratatat are what I usually listen to. Their songs have a lot of personality and strange noises, which are musical deal breakers for me . But I also like listening to songs that I can tie to certain experiences I've had or would like to have. It's almost like having certain things I like to think about to certain songs. It's kind of hard to explain, but since this is would be the place to find the most extreme day dreamers I thought I'd give it a shot! Here are a few of my favorites.

YouTube - Animal Collective - Peacebone

YouTube - RATATAT - Bare Feast

aww man.. me loves animal collective. I got into them before strawberry jam came out and they definitely had a big influence on me. Have you listened to their older stuff at all? IT's so raw and emotional, when I listened to them it felt like I was a child again in a way. aNd with songs like 'I see you pan', they helped me express my emotion of losing the unconscious paradise of childhood in order to develop a successful ego.

And yeah I day dream all the time. Even when I'm in mid-conversation with someone (which is kind of embarrassing)

I daydream mostly at night when I am watching tv-except I am not really watching it! I try not to daydream when I am busy with things-but I guess when I was younger I daydreamed all the time. When I listen to music that is mostly instrumental I can really take off in my mind. here is one song that does this for me:

The oldest I have is Sung Tongs, but I definitely want to get into anything and everything of theirs My boyfriend just showed me some of their solo stuff. He's got an album by Panda Bear and one by Avey Tare. SO GOOD.

I'm so bad about day dreaming! I would guess I'm in daydream stage nearly 70% of the time. It's awful. I like your music selection! Animal collective FTW! If it's r&b im probably dancing in my car, if it's classical im daydreaming+humming which is a bad combo cause I don't really remember driving. I totally blackout and end up at the destination, hahahaha.

Yeah I really like Avey's new album 'down there'... Panda has a new one coming out later this year called 'tomboy'. Should be good. Just so you know, their older stuff is much harder to get into but just as rewarding imo. Also, you should check out an EP they did with Vashti Bunyan called 'Prospect Hummer' if you haven't yet. as you can tell, im a bit obsessed

Excellent! I will go searching for these albums when I get home and devote several hours of musical nerdiness to it And the only way I know how to like something is to be obsessed with it, so you're ok with me!

I am very much and always have been a daydreamer. Dreams about conquering the world. Dreams about making fame. Rags to riches. Small time accomplishments I hope one day to accomplish one day. I spend a lot of time daydreaming about how I want to conquer the world. I have learned through the years to "keep it simple stupid, KISS" and stick to daydreaming about small easy obtainable goals that I know I can see myself accomplishing and then putting my daydreams into action.

I have always thought the zodiac sign Pisces described me with more accuracy then any other zodiac sign; how much an emotional daydreamer I am. But I wasn't born in March, I was born in November. I think most friends would categorize me more as a daydreamer and a very loving person. so maybe it is because I am an INFJ that makes me such a daydreamer lost in my mind forever yearning to accomplish what I dream about.

I love listening to songs about Dreams:

    "Dreamweaver", by Gary Wright
YouTube - dream weaver gary wright

I like "These Dreams" by Heart
YouTube - Heart - These Dreams

I also enjoy this song as well, "Shattered Dreams"
YouTube - Johnny Hates Jazz - Shattered Dreams

and , "Dream On" by Aerosmith
YouTube - Dream On - Aerosmith
