he sounds like someone who has been hurt. he seems unstable. searching for 'the one' often causes discomfort if another person is given that title too soon. it could be that you are 'the one' but how he is going about sharing that information with you doesn't seem too romantic. he may have a self-esteem issue. it seems like he is in a rush to get married.

Well he came to visit this past weekend and we had a lot of fun as usual. But I was getting the sinking feeling that I was not interested in him romantically. Finally yesterday I told him, "I really have a great time with you, but I don't think I'm ever going to feel the same way about you that you feel about me." I apologized, and he said, "That's life. Nothing to apologize about." Then he packed up his stuff and left. I feel so bad but I know it was the right decision.

And the moral of this story is,..never date someone just out of a 13 year marriage, who's clearly on the rebound.
Whatever the INFJ's 'issues' in this, it seems to me that the OP played this man like a fiddle.
Typical divorcee behaviour, fickle, controlling, and using..and inevitably going nowhere.
Seems this INFJ guy had the OP pegged correctly, and saw what was coming,.. of course he did, he is afterall, an INFJ.
If anyone wants to be settled or married, or in a serious relationship, dont waste time with people who just 'wanna see how things go' and 'have fun in the moment'.

Wow, brutal but true. I've learned I'm not ready to be in a relationship yet and certainly not with someone that is in a rush to get married.
