The same thing happens to me. I make sure to write down everything in a planner or on my calendar but some times I get so caught up with my thoughts I just forget. A lot of people think I'm flaky or dense.
My ENFP boyfriend even gets a little frustrated with me some times when he talks and I begin to go into a daze or forget to mention things to him lol.
Not really.
For some reason, I always catch myself putting things in the same place always, so I sort of always know where they are. The problem is when this specific place isn't available.
If I didn't forget the me that knows where my shit is than I can sure for forever remember where everything is... might be dangerous in my case however.
I have a photographic memory. If I put something down in the middle of the desk, I'll remember exactly where it is five years later.
HOWEVER
If that thing somehow gets shoved aside when I'm putting other things on my desk (this happens a lot) or if my mom gets into a mad cleaning rush and decides to put it up somewhere...I'm toast. Even if its halfway across the room on a bookshelf, I can't find it without help. (I once lost my shoe under my backpack this way).
I do remember where everything is in my room because I have organized them that way. But still I may forget things I place somewhere temporary or they don't have any permanent place.
However, a funny story, made me quite embarrassed, I was in Paris with my ex and we were at metro station and I checked my jeans' pocket where I kept my wallet and then I realized that it was gone and I slightly freaked out and told my ex that my wallet is gone. Then she pointed my left hand... surprise! >_<
Ergh I lose everything! I've gone through four iPods, four cell phones, two cameras, etc. I just KNOW they must be walking away when I'm not looking!
*lose hahaha, typical
umm, if i put my phone down on my bed, get occupied say out side, i'll be looking for the phone out side and not indoor. this happens with every thing else. so now that i know that my short term memory is- very short, i take the responsibility of using photographic memory. In my head i create and verbally repeat the looks of the environment at which i place anything.
I've made some improvements.
