How do you guys feel about them? I dont think i've ever planned a party or anything big for my birthday or any kind of congratulatory event for myself. I was never big on celebrating my bday like my friends do with like a realllly big party or whatever. I've always had a simple dinner with friends and thats about it.

My own birthday hasnt really held any big place in my life for some reason, i mean its just another day of the year.

What about you guys? Do other infj's go all out for celebrations about themselves?

I'm the same way. I have never made a big deal of my birthday. I don't expect much and I don't plan much for myself. Just a nice dinner is enough. Maybe seeing the fireworks (my birthday is July 4th). A year is just another orbit of the earth around the sun.

I tend to end up with rather big but relaxed birthday celebrations with lots of overpreparing, and then end up with one, i have come to accept a nice quiet and relaxed environment isnt always "the thing" not surprisingly many just forgot about it, there is the reliability issue again that many seem to have, but in the end it was pretty good, and there was plenty of food, which is always a good thing

I have noticed i sometimes think i can throw myself into these strong social occasions only to realise it was probably best that there were not too many.

Just thinking about this makes me realize that I'm a bit picky about my birthdays. If no one acknowledges it or does something for my birthday like spending time with me, going out for dinner/making dinner etc, I get really depressed.

Unfortunately, that's happened to me more often than I'd like it to be.

On the other hand, it's hard when there are a ton of people there. Sometimes I feel a bit awkward. I personally prefer a smaller group of people consisting of the people I'm actually really close to. I really don't want acquaintances to be there to be honest. If they're there, it becomes work to me. If it's with the people I'm close to and comfortable with, it's just fun and relaxing!

I'm pretty sure that's a classic INFJ scenario though, right? Anyone want to chime in?

Oh yeah. I hate parties celebrating myself.

Not only that, but I turn 21 in about 2 days (Tuesday). Alot of my friends are excited about it, but me, ehh'. I guess it's cool I'll be able to buy my own booze, but I don't feel like I deserve any celebration for anything.

But my closest friend (ENFP) states the truth: it's because you have people who love you just as much as you love them.

Haha, I just hate when all attention is directed toward me.
