    Curse of the INFJ

I was thinking about all the different people who are said to be INFJ and what they have in common.
The one thing I realized is it seems that all of us For-seer developers help society mostly in the future.

If you think about it we are all kind of these great artists who take careful steps to have things just so after we die, it is almost as if we can see the needs of times after our death and fix them in the now, and letting that transcend over.

maybe our time for respect and distinction is towards the end of our lives or when we are gone.

think of any famous artists whose paintings were weird up until they passed and their style just BECAME popular.
think of any form of religious prophet who created a religion that people still use in worship today.

We are the creators of the timeless.

now the reason I say this is a curse... well, we die before we get to see what we have done.
    lol

still, I think I would like to give a massive parting gift to the world. before I die.
    seems very me actually.

Ha, that seems pretty true - but maybe so of the future-thinking types. I guess INFjs have Fe as well as the forward-thinking aspect that makes them want to change something for the better, even if it's after their death.

Kind of seems pointless in some ways and good in others :)

Well that would be excellent if we have a tendency towards that

Frankly, I don't care if I get to see it or not as long as it does improve things or causes positive change.

Haha I even imagined implementing one of my plans in my field and it having a good effect though in my mind I was still alive.

    yeah...

I just hope reincarnation is possible...
that way I can see what happens...

but if not, knowing it will happen is good enough for me :)

It seems somewhat defeatist to say the times of respect and distinction will come after we die...

In fact, it doesn't sound very INFJ to limit yourself right off the bat. I'm not sure you are doing that, but the post certainly leans in that direction. Why bother, if it won't matter to anyone until after we die.

Wouldn't it be better to dwell in possibility, dream, and hope you attain accolades while you are still around?

Because the important thing is to make a difference in people's lives! To say "I don't want to help anyone/make a difference/change the world unless I'll be here to enjoy all the rewards" is pretty selfish. It may not matter to anyone until after we die, but it will still matter.

That being said, I'd like to make a difference somehow while I'm alive. But if it happens after I die, that's cool too.

You might want to reread my post... I am agreeing with you. :)

the quote you used, is what I consider the gist of the original poster. actually, my post might not be very clear, sorry about that.

    So yes, and ditto.

I'd like to make a difference somehow while I'm alive.

Because it's what floats their boat. If life feels more meaningful for doing such a thing, let them have that.

I hate thinking about the future. It drives me nuts.

I just hope that I can make this world better before I leave it.

Sometimes the world changes even before I think of it, so assuming that the difference would be made only after someone's death doesn't represent a fact, but an ideology. People thinking this way are usually hooked up in an empty world, blinded by 'nothingness'. The world is changing every moment, and we are part of it in every moment of 'now', as the past and the future are just moments of now arranged in a way that supposedly would make sense (even if it doesn't). The physical existence may, indeed, introduce a 'delay' between a thought and a result. But, again, it is up to us how long it would be: a lifetime cycle could be concentrated in less than a second just because time is relative and should be used just as a descriptor.
The conclusion would be that everyone changes when he wants to, this could take him a lifetime or a revelation would come to him in the next second. Death has nothing to do with it because people change from themselves for themselves. If they accept one's ideas, won't wait for that person to die in order to apply them in their own lives. The waiting time is completely up to them and is not dependent on the outer pressure which affects only our minds.
    GreenCoyote thanked this post.
