INFJ trying to be ENFJ at least for this thread - Any other INFJ Photographers here?

Just thought I'd ask. Since photography and the arts is a draw to people who are INFJ, I wonder how many are photographers or are interested in photography (as a profession or as a hobby).

I started photography when I was 14, then gravitated towards other ill-suited occupations that didn't hold my interest; mainly because it promised the lure of money. Now that I'm 40 (or will be this June), I've stopped dreaming dreams of being other things and concentrated on finding a career path (self-employment for me) that fulfilled my deepest desires...(OK...this is something that other fellow INFJs should understand) of a fulfilling career. Something where I would want to wake up in the morning and be charged to go to work instead of saying "Oh...~poop~ it's morning again!"

Just wondered how many INFJs love photography and how many decided to pursue it as a career or are in the process of getting their diplomas in that field of the arts.

when I was in 6th grade, i had an obsession with disposable cameras and would take pictures of EVERYTHING!!!
    all through middle school.
I set that aside as I took art classes all through high school.

    photography is fun.

it is good for us, I can't speak for everyone but my natural ability to remember visual details about my past is horrible, but I tend to be able to find the best angle for anyone and for any picture.

I have had a few people beg me to take their pictures...
I have a style for it, plus I think I make people comfortable in front of a camera too.

I dabble but never stuck with it. kinda of just a hobby for me.

I am happiest though when I am not really chatting or being in the social situation but taking pictures of it...
weird that I never do that anymore...
I think cause my friend is pursuing photography and I don't want to steal her thunder, cause she prides herself on the picture taking thing.

I'm an amateur photographer. I love photography. It is a passion for me. I'm an Image Retoucher/Digital Artist with dreams of becoming a freelance photographer as well. There has been some issues that have been an impediment in the past which I'm now working to get past. I'm self taught in everything I do though, but I would love to take some classes and get qualified.

I find it naturally easier to teach myself in subjects I am interested in.

I mean, we know what looks good.

everyday I wish there was some way to just capture a dream I had or get lighting to look the certain way it does and to really get peoples beauty the way I see them out for everyone to notice.

You should look in to learning photomanipulation. It's quite fun and it's one way to recreate your dreams. I'll be working on some new ones soon. Might post them on the Post Your Artwork thread too in the near future. :)

The toughest part for me is getting an "artistic idea". And it involves training my eyes to be ever vigilant for visual cues that can translate into an image that stands apart from the typical snapshots. Still workin' on it.

I'm interested in making pinhole cameras, I have the materials and also the instructions (I have a darkroom light but no darkroom).. I also have a Holga camera. I have no subjects I want to take yet, some are in the process of making, so up till now I haven't taken any photos.. I'm mostly interested in fashion photography..

I loved this short tv series called The Wonderful World of Albert Kahn. He brought several photographers with him on a journey across the world, taking photos. I can't remember the time period but it is well before the 1940s. I'm interested in creating "old" photos like these.. I'm not sure if I can do that with pinholes and holgas...

So would you be more into photojournalism? Taking a photo of reality as it is
I tend to stage everything.. exaggerate/emphasize or create a whole new picture right from scratch..

Hmm i'm not sure if I could say I "love" photography or not. I've been an amateur for more than 10 years now, I just shoot to capture memories of life, slices of time that I may never get to re-visit again. I enjoy wildlife, travel and panoramic photography.

It's sort of a creative release for me. My main job is highly creative yet technical, but being a job it means that I can't fulfill my vision, but the client's. Photography is my source of doing stuff for myself. I notice that people can't really like my stuff, but I don't care, it's for me :D

I love photography and have since high school. It's quite a passion of mine which I have passed down to my son who happens to be way more talented than me. He just sees things a different way and has a way of composing a shot that makes sense artistically.
I tend towards nature photography. I rarely take photos of people anymore.
Since our camera and equipment was stolen several weeks ago, this has put a hamper on this hobby until I can save up for another one. Being an INFJ and having your hobby stolen hurts more than it would most types because of my strong sense of morals and compassion for others. I still can't understand why someone did this to us.
