Yes, THIS! Me exactly. I have very strong intuition about people especially. I was trying to explain to an INTJ friend yesterday how that works and he just can't comprehend the "feeling" of intuition. My premonitions happen much as you described. A flash can come so quickly and be so brief that I'm not even sure of it sometime!

It took a very long time, but I've come to trust my intuition. It's even better when you can offer up an analytical argument to bolster what you already know intuitively, but I don't even find that necessary to do, unless I'm arguing with an ENTP ;-). I've also come around to thinking that a soothsayer is merely someone with heightened intuition, someone who is also perceptive enough to receive certain kinds of non-verbal cues and perspicacious enough to decipher them and know what they might mean. My INFP girlfriend is a good one for that. I wouldn't worry terribly about the utility of the information you're receiving. Sometimes it's enough to be just aware that it's happening. Let someone else micro-manage the details, and trust that you've got the big picture figured out, usually long before anyone else.

Oh! I always thought both came as a package deal. That certainly explains a lot. I get both kinds. I actually always thought it was an INFJ thing. :/

Actually no, the premonition it's something is has to do with our spirituality, on how developed you have this area. My mom is an ESFJ and he has premonitions in dreams but she also has the hability to say something is going to happen by his intuition (this what is very common on INFJs). You may have the same result but in a different way

Is OP aware she's describing Introverted Intuition (Ni) which is the dominant function of INFJs and INTJs?

She also used the word "judgement." INFJs judge through Extroverted Feeling (Fe) if you have no idea what I'm talking about:

This is so true for me - - I have seen something unfolding in front of me -and felt frozen, unable to speak or act - once in High School, the premonition - played out in full sound and vision - footsteps in the hall, door opens , someone walks in and the teacher ells me that the principal wants to see me -so the teacher informs. Worked that way exactly and I tried to rationalize it as a deja vu sort of thing but before it happened(?) - it was in 1959 and I remember the vision and the event separately, one actual, the other a mental audiovisual presentation.
I have no idea as to the type, but my great, great, grandmother predicted events a day ahead of time - people would check with her in making plans. . She is reported to have said one morning, "I see Death. . . " and no more, and a close relative died later that day.
No, I do not want that.

There is a theory that says that intuition comes from a universal or global consciousness, or the tapping into it.
Most of it comes from the beginning of the 2th century; but the theories died with the second world war.
Nevertheless, there might be truth to be found in it

Everything is going to happen...our type may just have a glimpse of what may come....I would go on more but in time you "young ones" will develop you "intuition"
