    INFJs and Grizzly Subject Matter

    Hello my INFx chums,

I've noticed that INFJs seem to like thrillers and detective-style subjects. They seem to be totally impervious to gore or grizzly aspects of things. It seems like the more intrigue, betrayal, suspicion and double-dealing there is in a book/film, the more they enjoy it.

Is this something generally found among INFJs? I postulate that it's a Ni-Fe thing. INFJs seem good at guessing the plot: "She did it," is something I hear a lot.

Yeah, guessing the plot is sort of common for INFJs and our Ni loves "hidden worlds" so mystery and all that jazz tends to appeal to us.

As for "grizzly subject matter" in general, I like horror stories with some depth (so not your run-off-the-mill slasher movie) quite a bit.

Indeed...but on a grander scale than mere detective-style topics. I'm a raging conspiracy theorist. Area 51 and so forth...

One of my friends doesn't want to watch movies with me anymore. Said jokingly after I guessed the plot halfway though a mindfuck movie. I was right.
I love to see the deeper meaning in movies and the more deeper things going on the more enjoyment I get out of it.

I'm really good at guessing the plot to movies/tv shows. I had a conversation about a show with an ESFP friend that consisted of her saying "how the fuck did you...." alot and me saying "it's really not that complicated....". It doesn't typically stop me from enjoying them thought :)

As for horror...no, no thankyou. I hate horror movies in a very girl way and I'm not ashamed to admit it.

I hate this genre crime, murder mystery, horror, it's just so boring and repetitive once you've seen one crime murder mystery film show, book whatever you've seen them all in my opinion, although I do love conspiracy theories and thrillers, they seem much more intelligent and intense to me.

Yes, yes, yes. Perhaps not so much outright gore, at least in movies, because I feel like seeing excessive blood and guts just isn't really necessary. I love the psychological aspects and gore in books is actually quite interesting.

Yes! And I find I am able to predict the plot very easily....

I despise horror movies especially if they're really gory. I don't understand why people make movies like that. I don't want to watch people suffer and get killed. I know it's not real but I still can't stomach it.

I think we are type that is obsessed with over-analyzing or seeing what is beneath the surface, so yes! People are such complex individuals, it is their psyche, the cover-up, the mystery, the half truths, and not so much the gore that I focus on. Of course, over-analyzing can lead to wrong conclusions...we have to be careful not to read too far or imagine things that really are not there.
