These are recommended matches for INFJ according to socionics:

    INFJ +

    Attractive relations:
    + ESTP - Duality description under SLE-IEI
    + ISTP - Activity Relations
    + ESFP - Semi-duality Relations
    + ENTP - Mirage relations
+ INTP - Benefit relations where INFJ is benefactor and INTP is beneficiary
+ ISFP - Benefit relations where ISFP is benefactor and INFJ is beneficiary

    Medium level relations:
    + ENFP - Extinguishment Relations
    + ENFJ - Mirror Relations
    + INTJ - Kindred Relations
    + ISFJ - Business Relations
    + INFP - Quasi-identical Relations
    + INFJ - Identical Relations

    Difficult relations:
    + ESTJ - Conflict Relations
    + ISTJ - Superego relations
+ ENTJ - Supervision-relations where ENTJ is supervisor and INFJ is supervisee
+ ESFJ - Supervision-relations where INFJ is supervisor and ESFJ is supervisee

These compatibilities are based on correspondence in cognitive functions: you and your romantic partner will find it easier to understand each other if your jungian types have all or at least some of the cognitive functions in common.

Matches based on Erotic Styles (for INFJ check under INFp/IEI, victim style)

One's jungian type isn't the only thing that influences compatibility. Enneagram type and instinctual stackings also hold their sway.

INTP-INFJ pairings are very common by the looks of this forum. So many threads about this match, but I wonder how many of them work out in the long term.

I can talk to an INTP but I like the INFJs and INFPs to open my heart up to and the ENFPs to have fun close feeling communication with,...but I'd like to have more experience in all the types so I can have a first hand experience of them.

I had an ENTP crush once... I don't think I'll ever go for another type ever again. She had me enraptured and it was confusing, exciting, scary, weird, fascinating all at once.

    ENTPs ftw <3

Thank you for posting, but am I the only one that feels like a translation key is needed?

That chart has already been translated from Socionics into MBTI by keeping cognitive functions the same. So INFJ type in MBTI (Ni-Fe) is assumed to be Socionics INFp/IEI because this is their Ni-Fe type. Other type translations.

Of course some may argue that it doesn't work like this and you cannot translate types in this manner between Socionics and MBTI. In general, if you want to know your and your partner's Socionics types, it is advised that you spend a couple of weeks and study Socionics on your own.

Obviously ENTj and INFj aren't a good match, has anyone else experienced this type relationship?
ENTJ + INFJ is relationship of supervision, but the person you're talking about sounds like an INFP with weird sense of humor due to auxiliary Ne, which is relations of semi-duality.

I hate the way socionics makes identical relationships sound so boring.

    They aren't boring at all!

This is exactly how I feel. Intellect is nice but INTP cannot replace INFP or INFJ from what I've experienced communication wise. I really feel relaxed around INFP and INFJ. The trust/bond is there and can be communicated without words.

Well said Dr H. Have you had any relationships with either type? I've also found INFPs and INFJs to have exceptionally hilarious sense's of humor too. They crack me up like no other type. :)
