from the interviews she describes herself as someone who thinks alot and is prone to overthinking. She also mentioned that she neglected to inform her family that she was being honored on the walk of fame. This is consistent with Ti-dom Fe-inferior

    ISTP or INTP?

I don't think any of the interviews demonstrate either function decisively, but she also describes how she detaches herself mentally from a situation. This seems to rule out Se to me, since Se is the most in the moment, here and now function. Ne allows you to go 'elsewhere'. I'm fairly sure she is INTP. For the lack of Ne, for one thing it won't be fully developed at her age. Also INTPs tend to shield it and act more reserved when they are in unfamiliar company (like an interview). It would be interesting to see how she acts around people she is comfortable with.

And fwiw many of her mannerisms and ways of speaking are similar to my INTP gf

And even thou people think she is an INTP I have done some film work at an indie film studio back a few years ago. directed a few low budget films. And i had a few INTP friends that where quite good at acting. They watch people, They observe and study others. So when they are trying to portray someone else they usually are quite good at acting out different characters....with kirsten i see her as a very bad actress

Which doesnt mean she isn't INTP, But from my experience when an INTP is trying to pretend to be someone else they dont end up being another version of themselves
    This.

I don't see the intuition with her at all.

She's not a good actress, she has a good look for a vampire but she isn't going to last IMO.

Or whatever she was ok, LOL. I don't know if she actually was a vampire.

Not once in my 27 years have I experienced Twilight in book or moving picture form.

    INTP - The Thinkers

The thing that I clearly recognize in her is, at the very least, probably introverted thinking. In an interview about Snow White and the Huntsman, she mentioned the difference between her approach to acting versus (I believe) Chris Hemsworth's approach to acting. She has to think through the nuances of a character and scene (seems to be a Ti-dom consideration), whereas Hemsworth just wanted to go straight into the scene (probably a Se-dom consideration).

I'm looking for the interview, but I can't find it. I just watched it last night.

That all said, in the interviews for Breaking Dawn: Part 1, Bill Condon (the director) talks about how for the Renesmee birthing scene, Kristen Stewart had to do a lot of preparation for it (in terms of research) -- but when it came time to do the scene she just threw herself into it. So, Se-aux might not be too far off?

Note: after a brief viewing of a Comic Con panel, it seems like Kristen likes doing her own stunts when allowed. I might expect an ISTP to be more willing to do her own stunts than an INTP, but I'm not 100% sure.

Sorry, I don't see it. She is looking at the interviewer almost all of the time. She just looks tired and blinks a lot from 2 min and onwards. And most of her side glances are still down to the right in the picture.

People have some really weird Fi and Ti conceptions around here, not gonna lie. Honestly, I see nothing particularly conceptual about Kristen Stewart's personality at all - most of what comes out of her mouth screams "My feelings, my oh so special feelings" to the extreme. Also, I don't think she's inadvertently socially awkward either - I think she knows what she's doing (in other words, her conscious command of feelings is strong like a dominant F type, not weak like an inferior F type). She's not the kind of person like INTPs who have almost no fear of speaking their minds (that's essentially dominant Ti in a nutshell - speaking your thoughts with low social lubrication) to the possible detriment of others' feelings. She's too savvy with the feelings.

I would have agreed with you had she not said something about preferring realism in her work, stories and wanting to make things as realistic as possible and in that same breath completely subjugating the idea of fantasy. Fi+Ne is all about the fantastical, how things should be and seeing things as they ought to be better then they are. That's directly opposed to seeing things realistically and simply accepting it and wanting it to be that way. A Ne+Fi type being realistic can certainly happen but a preference for seeing things these ways? Not likely in my opinion. They would want to change something about their reality because it doesn't fit their inner world which is likely archetypal. Call it stereotyping, call it whatever you want. I call it reality. I can't see any NF preferring to see things as they are rather then what they could be or what they should be. Especially an NFP and NFJ type. I could see SF's seeing it that way even NT's and ST's but not an NF they are too preoccupied with their internal world and seeing things as they ought to be rather then being overly preoccupied and concerned with how things truly are. NF's can be realistic but they wouldn't prefer that realism to their idealism or their own inner world which is created and augmented by Ni and Fi in what they believe should be.

Also, I don't think she's inadvertently socially awkward either
Oh no I definitely believe she is awkward as hell. She's very odd and almost has no idea how to handle herself in a crowd setting. That could just be introverted shyness though.

She's not the kind of person like INTPs who have almost no fear of speaking their minds (that's essentially dominant Ti in a nutshell - speaking your thoughts with low social lubrication) to the possible detriment of others' feelings.
That sounds and seems more like a blunt use of Te more then Ti.

I disagree with what your saying about her socially awkward behavior. If you watch the interview in my earlier post, the one when she was 13, you will see notice the same body tick pattern that she exhibits in all her interviews. The hair parting and collar tugging never went way, its just a physical manifestation of social anxiety. I highly doubt a 13 year is capable of consciously conditioning her body language to give off an image of social awkwardness and keeping the routine going for ten years. I think you are thinking on a level way above what is needed here and the simple answer here is that she is just really awkward!

Now the part about INTPs speaking their minds is true. But it is easy for INTPs to suppress their speech to meet social norms. Stewart admits to having to suppress her humor because it offends people. I think when it comes to speech, she knows what she is doing. If you watch the dynamic with Stewart and Dakota Fanning, you'll see speech from Stewart that is congruent with INTP personality.

I think what I mentioned about her processes for getting into a role speak of Ti-dom more so than a Fe- or Fi-dom/aux. She has to research it and find out the nuances of behavior and interaction (this is in an interview about working with Chris Hemsworth, who will simply throw himself into a scene). She thought it was interesting/amazing when their separate processes could come together to make a scene work. That said, her willingness to do her own stunts, as well as being willing to jump INTO the Renesmee birthing scene after her "research" was done -- I think that speaks more of Se than Ne.
