Interesting statement, since the same rule applies for psychosis. So hipsters are really psychotic? :O

    I imagine mostly INFJ's, ESFJ's, & ENFJ's. It's hard to explain.

isfps aren't intellectual enough to be hipsters for the most part. they can be hippies and bohemians, but they aren't the ones who are one step "ahead" in trends and taste. the only thing that is different from hipsters to hippies are the dark sides of the social instinct: a refusal to social communities, and a desire to stand out on their own, searching for original identities through obscure music and art (allthough in the end they become what they don't want to embrace, transforming them to hippies or wall street brokers).
Bold - that's pretty much contrary to the normal ISFP stereotypes. The way I see it anyway is that ISFPs loves to be engaged, and what is more exciting than an underground music scene for example, where you have to walk knee high in much to find the rare gems, but incredibly rewarding ones. What in my opinion doesn't qualify ISFPs as hipsters is the motivation, ISFPs are rather laid-back and accepting and is in it for their own enjoyment/amusement, not as a counter-culture thing. In a way it seems that the ISFP stereotype to a large extent is the ideal to the loosely defined term hipster, an individual who follows their heart and doesn't abide to social expectations (Fi-dom) unless seen as right or necessary. Inferior Si on the other hand (ENFP, ENTP) is the perfect example of people desperately trying to avoid being tied down to things 'just because' and resent the "sheep mentality".

    ISFP or ENFP, stereotypically.
    Just like hippies! :D

I've read that INFPs dislike that of which is mainstream. Which I'd agree with.

I think it's a reflection of Fe in the tertiary or inferior position. Disliking something because it's popular is still letting popular taste influence your own. It's just the reverse of strong, healthy Fe, where you accept common tastes. ... And even a subculture can satisfy Fe's need for community.

There does seem to be an Se influence on hipster culture, so I would say it's an XSXP type. Add in tertiary or inferior Fe, and you're likely looking at XSTP. But there's something introverted about hipsters that I can't quite explain. So, ISTP?

... That probably sounds crazy. But it's where my logic led me, so I'm gonna stick with it.

A real hipster would never admit to being a hipster.

I think real hipsters are Enneagram 4
I don't think MBTI matters as much as that
