Gibbs is probably the most INTJ person I've seen on people. Everyone always confuses him for ISTJ and I don't understand why. All the things he does is based on his gut. He'll go off without even knowing the details if his gut tells him too. I also thought Tony was ENTP but now I realize that he is probably ENFJ; While Ducky is probably the ENTP. McGee is INXP. Abby is complicated.
Just felt the need to post that Psy Ops Director Dr. Samantha Ryan (Jamie Lee Curtis's character on NCIS) pegged Gibbs as an Introverted iNtuitive Feeler on this weeks show. Thinking about that it actually makes a lot of sense. I thought it was interesting to hear MBTI being referenced on prime time television.
Gibbs- INTJ with strong, well-cared-for tertiary Fi
Tony - ESTP
Ziva - ISTJ. She seems ISTP in the beginning, but watch her character development and it's clear that duty and logic and patriotism come before anything else.
Abby - ENFP
McGee - INFJ
Ducky - INxP
Jenny - ENTJ
Vance - IxTJ
Palmer - ISFJ
I had always thought that he was INTJ but INFJ seems pretty likely as well. That's some hella intuition he's got going on and being in the marines as well as loosing his wife and child would have made him appear more like a stereotypical 'T'.

I actually think Gibbs is more INFP. I'm ENTP, but because I was in the military I became extremely organized. If someone didn't know me, but saw me IRL, I can come off as an INTJ. Gibbs has his own set of rules and the way he interacts with his superiors, as well as other, just says Fi to me. I don't see him as being Fe at all. I can also see people mistyping him as a T due him being such an introvert and emotionally closed off due to the loss of his wife and kid, but the way he reads people and his idealistic views are very NF.
Dr. Ryan: Oh, what exactly are you accusing me of, Agent Gibbs? Gibbs: I don't know. Dr. Ryan: Have you lost your mind? Gibbs: I don't know. Dr. Ryan: Why do you keep saying that? Gibbs: Because I don't know! With everybody else, Doc, I know, but with you... God, I'm trying here! Dr. Ryan: Oh, and for an introverted, intuitive feeler like you, this must be intolerable. Gibbs: Why do you always have to talk like this? Dr. Ryan: Like what? Gibbs: Why can't you just be like a regular person? Dr. Ryan: Like a person? Gibbs: Like a normal person. Dr. Ryan: Like a human. This from the man who doesn't talk.
Okey, bringing up this thread again, we should continue on it.
First of all, are we sure that they're refering to Jung or MBTI here? Intuition might mean different things if you're refering to Jung or MBTI than it would in "normal speach". So would introverted. Also, if I've understood everything right, and if she refers to MBTI, if any type, an intuitive feeler would be comfortable doing this. He panics over not knowing why he does it. An xNFx type, or INFx if you prefare, would probably be comfortable doing this kind of assumption.
Gibbs--ISTJ Almost a stereotypical ISTJ with his rules and expectations--his "gut" might suggest Ni, but I feel like the overall intent is Si, not Ni. Not sure where anyone sees Fe in him--it's all Te-Fi, direct and to the point. The way he gets exasperated by the tech people suggests N vs S conflict to me rather than Ni vs Ne. It's not that he refuses to see distinct possibilities, it's that he only cares about what it is rather than where it fits it.
Tony--ESTP. Practically the poster child for the "frat bro" version of the type
Ziva--Very torn on her type. Can see the Te/Fi over Ti/Fe, but Se seems more right to me than Ne. Definitely need to rewatch some of her episodes.
McGee--INTP. He extraverts a lot of Ne when trying to solve problems, but he also tends to get "stuck" on a particular line of logic until someone breaks him out of it. But once he gets on a new path or has time to think, he easily develops a new line of logic. He's one of the fictional characters I think approaches things similar to the way I do.
Abby--ENFP. Lots of high Ne in how she can go overboard and inferior Si in the way she becomes afraid of particular things.
Ducky--ENTP. The way he talks and presents suggests higher Fe than inferior.
Jimmy--ISFJ. The degree to which he respects and emulates Ducky suggests some kind of Si-Fe process.
Kate--ESTJ. Not a dominant perceiver, and not highly intuitive either. On an unrelated note, I dislike how her role was basically to show how Gibbs' "gut" was superior to her "profiling skills" every time.
gibbs is hardcore istp. people should stop overtyping intj. his whole gut thing fits a ti se combination way better than ni te. and come on he is building a boat in the basement.
He is definitely not a P type. The question is where its ISTJ or INTJ. I lean more towards INTJ based on the gut instincts.
