I never saw the original Fargo as it came out when I was really young however I am watching the t.v. series remake with Martin Freeman and am curious as to how you guys would type the characters.

If you don't mind I'd appreciate it if you marked whether you were typing the original or the remake in your posts.

at a rough guess, i'd put Lester Nygaard as INFP
Lorne Malvo, uh, ExTP

other than that, i'm clueless; it doesn't really help that a lot of them are clearly unhealthy people, making the whole thing a lot more confused

I'm typing the remake tv series, by the way

And for anyone who hasn't been watching it, you really should, you've been missing out.

I can see INFP for Lester. Which way are you leaning with Lorne, sensor or intuitive? Also why P as opposed to J?

Agreed, those who aren't watching the show are missing out. I'm really liking it, it's one of my favorites this season.

The lead lady cop, Molly, is an ISFJ. Colin Hanks also may be an ISFJ. Lester is an IxFP.

Billy Bob Thornton is supposed to be an ISTP. He is cartoonish tho. I don't know what convictions are being talked about. He has no convictions, and is not fighting for any cause. He is just a thug, and a bully. He'll just once in a while wax poetic about it. Doesn't make it conviction.

Throughout the series, there are always hints about this dog-eat-dog mentality, about how he is this predator as a way of carving his way through the world: when he is in the prison disguised as the pastor, he says the whole thing about the human eye seeing more shades of green, which turns out to be an evolutionary thing to spot predators more easily-comparing himself to a predator; when he's on the phone to the supermarket guy he tells the story about the little boy and the wolves (the boy representing the supermarket guy and the wolf representing Billy Bob Thornton)

Then there's the scene, that i only remember hazily, where he's sat in a car in a neighborhood, and a guy comes out and tells him to leave because it's a family neighborhood etc etc, going entirely against his perception of the world, and he just reverts to making threats- dealing with the world according to his values and how he views it

I mean these are all just ideas, but it seems when it gets to a point of decision or action, he acts according to his Fi; although he is just a bully and thug, he acts like that because that's how he thinks he needs to survive in the world

Whatever Lorne is, he likes to test people and see it play out. I would say either ESTP or ENTP. ENTP likes to see what happens and his scene where he tests the motel lady about all those types of pets--and that he is a student of institutions...I'd say ENTP.
