    INTJ - The Scientists

Dumbledore is an INTP? Really? He seems far too quirky and outgoing to be an I. He never seems socially awkward and is extremely verbally quick, which INTPs seems to lack. Plus, Dumbledore's backstory reveals that he was a man of vision, in which he envisioned a world no longer dominated by Muggles. He worked hard to reach a purpose, but when it no longer fulfilled his ideals, he was not afraid to turn away from it. This seems like hardcore ENTP behavior. Obviously he became more subdued in his E when he got older, but I do not see him being an introvert.

    Anyone else agree?

INFJ - Indirect way of speaking (lack of Te), many obvious Fe motivations and moments

    INFJ - The Protectors

ENFP, at least for actor Michael Gambon. Thank you for reading.

    INFJ - The Protectors

Michael Gambon plays a Dumbledore with a much weaker and shakier N...the classic books Dumbledore has the genius streak N.

    INTP - The Thinkers

The weird thing about Harry Potter is that the actual protagonists (Harry, Ron, Hermione) seem kind of flat, while the minor characters have much more depth. At least that's what I thought as I got older and started re-reading the books.

    That's how I see them:

    Harry - ISTP
    Hermione - ESTJ
    Ron - ESFP

    Neville - INTP
    Fred and George - ESFP
    Luna - INTP
    Draco - ????
    Crabbe and Goyle - ESTP
    Cho Chang - ESFJ
    Lavender Brown - ESFJ
    Ginny Weasley - ????

    Molly Weasley - ESFJ
    Arthur Weasley -ISTP
    Percy Weasley - ISTJ
Dumbledore - it seems to be consensus that he's INFJ but he screams INTP to me
    Hagrid - ISFJ
    Snape - INTJ
    McGonagall - ESTJ
Lupin - INFP, he's probably my favorite character :)
    Sirius - ENFP
    James Potter - ESTP
    Lily Potter - INFP
    Tonks - ????

    Voldemort - INTJ
    Bellatrix Lestrange - ENFJ

    Vernon Dursley - ESTJ
    Petunia Dursley - ISTJ
    Dudley - ESTP
    Moaning Myrtle - ISFP
    Quirrel - INTP
    Argus Filch - ISTJ
    Dobby - ISFJ
    Xenophilius Lovegood - INFJ
    Dolores Umbridge - ESTJ
    Peter Pettigrew - ISFJ
    Mad-Eye Moody - ISTP
    Rita Skeeter - ESFJ
    Gilderoy Lockhart - ENFJ

    ESFP - The Performers

Harry - ISFP (or, less likely, ISTP)
    Ron - ESFP
Hermione - ISTJ with strong Te and tertiary Fi
Draco - ESFJ. And a tool.
    Fred and George - ENTP
    Ginny - ESFJ, maybe?
    Mrs. Weasley - ESFJ
    Mr. Weasley - ENFP
    Snape - INTJ
    McGonagall - ESTJ
    Dumbledore - INFJ or INTJ
    Voldemort - INTJ
    Sirius - ESTP
    James - ESTP
    Lupin - INFP
    Luna - INFP
Lily - from what I remember, ENFJ or ESFJ, but Ni is more likely.
Bellatrix - honestly, I don't know. She's a crazy bitch. Maybe ESFJ gone waaaaaay wrong?

I want to understand why Ron is typed as a feeler? Very curious to see the reasons.

Arthur Weasley seems more like an introvert to me. He is a mild character who doesn't seem to talk all that much in the books, if I recall correctly. SFP sounds OK, though. About Hagrid, I'm incertain about him being an introvert or extrovert, but I tend to type him as an extravert. As for Neville, well, he's an IXXP as far as I can see, but I don't think we know enough about him to know his middle letters.

Percy is definetly an introvert, as well as a classical ISTJ. From whatwe have seen in the books, he is often alone in his room, buried in his books or studying. He doesn't seem to want company. Peter Pettigrew, well, he is a IXXX, no clue about the three last letters. Draco Malfoy is a ESTP IMO. He is the slytherin version of James Potter, another ESTP.

I think Minerva might be a ENTJ. On the surface, she appears to be a solitary I_TJ, but she has the ENTJ "take charge" attitude, and she seems like a Te dom. She was rather chatty, outside her classroom, when she and other teachers met in Hogsmead, POA. She is a no-nonesense women, and she strikes me as someone who couldn't stand small talk, but those characteristics are very present in ENTJs too.

I'm not sure about Tom Riddle's type... He is anti-social, and although he can charm people easily, it's all a facade. I think he is an INTX.

I agree with the rest, though.

Harry is an ISFP. Harry never really reflect about anything, much, never lives inside his head to make intuitive jumps, to think about the future or to think outside the box regarding, well, anything. He is present-oriented, and the way he seeks thrill in Quidditch and DADA matters, and how he reacts in dangerous situations...it seems very Se to me. He is rather observant, has splendid reflexes, and just has fantastic instincts. His strenghts are in the physical world rather than in the mental one. And although he really enjoys being with friends, he shies away from attention, isn't the most talkative person and well... while his social skills aren't abysmal, they aren't that great either. And there's the fact that ISFPs are often called the "Extraverts Introverts", meaning that of all the introverts, they are the most sociable bunch, and need less time alone to recharge.

I think Lily is an ENFP. She appears to have lots of friends, is popular, and well, I think she is a typical Extravert. Also, the thing about Lily that is the most obvious, is her use of Fi. I didn't type her as an INFP because she appeared to be an Extravert, but she is a Fi user for sure. In every scene in which we see her, she is always criticizing people's ethics, whether it is Severus's friends, Severus himself, or James Potter. She nags people until they change, and like Hermione, gives the moral lecture. "It's not a nice thing to say" "You have chosen your way and I've chosen mine" (ending a relationship because of values clashing), and there are other examples I could give that support her being a Fi user. values, moral matters...that's Lily.

I would classify Luna as an INTP. She always speak what she thinks is "the truth" without worrying about people's feelings. Criticism doesn't affect her like it would affect Feelers, and the sometimes untactful way she gives uncomfortable truths...well, it's typical of an NT. No, she doesn't bother with "facts", but it might be that her view of what are facts is different from most people, so it doesn't mean she can't be a T type. I see plenty of Ne in her, but there's no notable Fi, from what I can see.

I agree with INTJ for Severus. The twins are usually typed as ENFPs, but I don't see anything wrong with ENTP for them. Yeah, now that I think about it, they appear to be thinkers instead of Feelers...OK, I'm officially converted. Congrats;) INTP for Remus Lupin...hmm...I suppose that it's possible. Although you could argue that he might be an INFP because he doesn't have the guts to tell his opinions to his friends, because he wants so badly to keep the harmony, and is afraid of rejection...But then again, it could be refuted that a Fi user would go with his values and ethics before anything else, which Remus didn't do...unless he valued harmony more than morality. Great, now I am very confused... As for Dumbledore, well...he is either an INTP, INFJ or INTJ. Arguments from the three "sides" are very convincing.
brilliant post! I agree with everything!
Harry is so NOT NF (no offence to those who posted that)
