2009, the current year is fine, but I don't really consider it the best year, just more on self-discovery.

I would say 2000-2006 (with the exception of 2003 and the second half of 2006)

1980 to 2000, since those years had the most interesting subcultures.

In terms of my life, I would say 1996-2006. From the year when I first started having enough conscious memories to actually be able to determine whether my life was good or not, to the year when I was forced into actually caring about getting into college and all that other bullshit and therefore ruined my life, along with the economy and pop culture conveniently going down the tubes at about the same time.

I'd also say 2009. I would have been 14 or 15, finishing 8th grade and starting high-school, and naive and pretty happy (I'm not calling you naive since you're 15 btw (though hopefully you're happy)). The 2000 - 2004 years were also pretty good since I would have been too young to understand anything.
