    Do you listen to/buy CDs?

As someone on the older end of generation Y, I very well remember the days when there were no MP3s and if I wanted to own a song, I'd have to buy the CD.

I'm curious how many of those from the younger end of generation Y buy CDs? Generation Z people (there are a few of them here), feel free to chime in as well.

I stopped buying CD albums about a year ago. I still buy blank CDs to burn music onto. If I want a song, I now download the MP3.

I still have a ton of CDs that I still listen to.

I do not buy any CDs, which is weird because I like to buy vinyls.

I used CDs and CD players exclusively up to the age of 11 or 12. Then I got my first mp3 player and realized I could get mp3s for free via file sharing programs. Since I never have much money and since CD players are much less portable than mp3 players, I find mp3s to be more convenient. Although I do sometimes use burnt CDs in cars...And I also have a hard time finding some of the music I want on file sharing programs

I haven't bought any CDs, besides blank CDs, since I discovered forums and torrents in 2005.

I do. I can't afford to buy every album I like though.

Am I considered generation Z? Born after 1994? 1995 isn't that far off
I love buying CD's, its more fun :P I mean its not practical anymore, but I just like the fact that I own it and I can hold it, not literary of course.

I love the idea of vinyls.. Yet I don't own a record player. I really want one though.

I haven't bought any CD's in close to two or three years ago, but that's mainly due to a financial thing, nevertheless my reason for doing so was to get a specific artist, and genre-specific or theme-specific compilation CD's. I still use MP3's as well, and it is the main form I do listen to music, since it is far more inconvenient to actually put in a CD somewhere and to have a specific song sorted out already to play on cue.

Even so, I was actually a late comer to buying CD's myself, since most of the time I just liked one song, so I found it to be a waste to buy one CD just for that, and so before that I actually just listened to the radio, and was satisfied with that.

I used to buy a lot of CD's. I don't even see a reason to buy them anymore. CD players are obsolete. If I bought a CD I would just rip the audio and put it on my mp3 player (if I had one still) I don't see any reason to buy a CD unless you really like owning the physical thing or want the liner notes.

I don't pay for music mostly because I can't, but CD's seem pointless anyway. Artists don't really make much if anything from CD's, although that isn't to say they have no affect on them. If I really liked an artist I would support them by buying Merch fom them, or seeing them in concert.
