    Single-Song Soundtrack for You

What one song in the Generation Y lifetime sums you, or something about you, up pretty well? That would be songs from 1977 to the present. I know that music isn't what it used to be, but try. haha

If you can, post the song. Give a li'l description, too, of how the song reps you. Not just empty posts! I'll be reading and listening to them all after all.

My choice is a 2003-er. The Jealous Sound - "Abandon! Abandon!": I've had frequent lows in my life and would often decline 'til I'd plot giving up everything. Realizations about what it means to survive became clear to me recently. This song relays the story a bit.

Iris by the Goo Goo Dolls is just about the most relatable song in the world, so I guess I'll go with that. :)

The song that most easily comes to mind for me is Duncan Sheik's "Good Morning".

    Lyrics:

I awake to find the devil
    Sitting near my bed.
    We have a conversation
    ...........he says:

    Good morning Mr. cut-throat
    These are most exciting times
We are surrounded by fools and crooks,
Strangers that give us dirty looks,
So many different people to despise

It’s tearing you apart / you haven’t got the heart
I don’t mean to complain, but it seems a little strange

    Good evening Mr. turncoat!
You’ve been watching the so-called news
    No news is good news,
    We don’t want to confuse
    The popular pursuit
    Of absolute truth
And who has time for such remote endeavors

    You wanna disappear,
How did you end up here?
    I don’t mean to complain
But it seems a little strange

    Take me to your leader
I sure could use a laugh
    (I hear) he’s made a new birdfeeder
And he sleeps in a birdbath
Who needs to join the circus
    Come on, just look around
    We are surrounded
By a bunch of fucking clowns!

They sing la la la la la la la la
They all sing la la la la la la la
We all sing la la la la la la la la
Everybody sing, la la la la la la la la

Its tearing you apart / you haven’t got the heart
You sit there and complain, it seems a little lame.

    Good morning, Mr. misanthrope
I sure do hope you remember our terms

I would think me being an IN_J would be enough justification as to why I could relate well to the lyrics...

Was that "when everything's made to be broken, I just want you to know who I am"? If I'm right, yeah, I concur it's relatable

Short Skirt Long Jacket by Cake
"I want a girl with a mind like a diamond
I want a girl who knows what's best
I want a girl with shoes that cut
And eyes that burn like cigarettes

I want a girl with the right allocations
    Who's fast and thorough
    And sharp as a tack
    She's playing with her jewelry
    She's putting up her hair
    She's touring the facility
    And picking up slack"

Ok, hopefully this isn't the soundtrack to my entire life, but it really describes how I've felt for the past few months. (I ended a longterm relationship.)
