Psychoanalyze the following lyrics:
"It was me waiting for me hoping for something more.
Me seeing me this time hoping for something else."
(Joy Division, "New Dawn Fades").

These lines make me think of a person who is depressed (lol), who can't get over the meaninglessness of his life. In "hoping for something more," he is never satisfied with the present moment. He's waiting for himself to reach some kind of juncture or realization that will make his life better. But what he realizes is that ultimately HE is the catalyst for that change, and instead comes to the conclusion that he is hopeless.
or something..............
So did I just simultaneously analyze you or wat? :3 We can all relate to some good ol' JD.
I never realised the lengths I'd have to go,
All the darkest corners of a sense I didn't know
Just for one moment, I heard somebody call,
Looked beyond the day in hand, there's nothing there at all
Well-written. I agree with your interpretation.
Yes you did.
♫ Just for one moment I thought I found my way.
Destiny unfolded. I watched it slip away. ♫ (Joy Division, "Twenty Four Hours").
Ian Curtis was a hell of a lyricist. Consider: ♫ Excessive flashpoints beyond all reach ♫
But I digress.
