Dream interpretation. Why do I have such crazy dreams?

My dreams are really crazy and they seem to go on forever. Not only that, but it's like I'm having multiple dreams in one. Usually I don't remember my dreams, but because I have been sleeping in this summer I remember almost every one of them. Is it because I'm sleeping in that I have such crazy dreams? Is it caused by stress? Or is it something else?

This was I remember from my most recent dream. It's hard to exactly remember everything because of the length.

It started with me going to camp. It was weird because in the beginning it was only myself and 4 counselors. I didn't particularly get along with one counselor and we always got into arguments. The setting was very surreal, like in most of my dreams. After a while we started to leave and I remembered that I still needed to shave... So after a lot of arguing we went to this store that like usual, had that de ja vu feeling to it even though I've never been to a store as crazy as this. It kind of looked like a museum wooden fort/ castle look to it. It was dark and all the salespeople wore colonial attire. There was one in particular that kept trying to sell these extremely white towels. In the end I found what I was looking for but it turned out to be different then I needed. My mom was there so I borrowed some money and ended up buying two towels when I only meant to buy one. Okay, after that we drove to the camp because we weren't there yet and we were housed in this dark little log cabin with bunkbeds, that was about the size of a camper. This is where it gets crazy. We got these little male babies that looked like those babies you get in Home ec. THen I managed to turn into a guy, and I had one of those uncomfortable restroom scenes.... I really don't understand why I have those. Maybe I needed to use the bathroom in real life... After we turned the babies in my dream transitioned again and I was in this vampire game where I had to go to this certain location so I ended up walking through a school and a movie theatre to get there. It turned out to be a zombie carnival and I ended up befriending a kid zombie and somehow I processed that I needed to be scared of her so I think I was almost lucid in that dream. After that I must have associated the vampires with Twilight because I was transported to some college that was set up like a maze. I was supposedly supposed to spy on the cullens who were living in this contemporary house on the top of the school so I ended up scaling sky scraper windows and climbing over the balcony and ended up being caught by the people I was spying on. The conversation was kind of fuzzy, but after that there was a strange scene where all the Cullens were murdered by this assassin dude. After that... I don't understand why my dream is so long and seriously this was in one night. I became a secret agent and I had a female partner. We were running through this semi-urban city over streets and past fast food restaurants to a park with a garden maze. There we met these two people who were acting out a medieval murder where a night was lamenting the death of his lover.... After that I transitioned to this open field where I was anxiously waiting for my marriage. I don't even know who I was marrying. Anyway I happened to live in this farmhouse and my new family had a cattle farm that was right beside another cattle farm, of course we were very ethical towards the cow. Anyway my new family was bargaining with neighbor on how they could reshape their pasture which was bordering a river and our neighbor's pasture. I happened to become good friends with the neighbor before I transitioned again. This time it turned into some weird shakespeare play where I was the tortured prince hunting after my evil uncle who perpetrated vile crimes against me and my family. He has the weirdest name. Seto the Best... yeah anyway, I ended up taking revenge and chained my villain uncle to a rock where he was eaten by a rabid lion. I think that is where it ended. If anyone can interpret that, I would be extremely grateful.

Yeah... I know it's crazy right?

To properly explain the symbolism of your dreams, it's important to know what you are like as a person, plus your personal - especially recent - history.

Hey, I read your post on the "What You're Doing Right Now" thread. And I wanted to respond to it, but then I found this post. So, even before I looked at your dream, I was thinking, "Ah, you're stressed about moving to college."

But looking at this dream...I'm drawing that same exact conclusion.

Just the plot of the dream seems very frantic/anxious. You're constantly jumping from one situation to another...you're being pushed into new situations all the time, and none of it seems to make any sense. You specifically said you feel anxious at a couple times in the dream. Also, you seem to be searching or forced into doing something new in many of these dreams. You're sort of thrust into this foreign situation and having to complete a task. I think it's pretty clear what this dream is getting at! :D

[hug] Don't worry about college. It's really fun and exciting, you meet amazing people, and everybody goes out of their way to make you feel comfortable and welcomed. After you find all of your classes, eat dorm food for a week, and do your laundry for the first time, you'll feel right at home. ^_^

That explains this other dream I had. I was in this kind of mental institution where they had visitation rights, but everyone was crowded together, and they were judged on if they were competent enough to be released and there were all these different tests. Anyway I ended up being saved by my dad, though it ended up taking forever because we had to navigate a parking garage maze, and then we had to ride in this crazy airplane, and then we escaped in my uncles motor boat...

Lol. Your dreams remind me of either a Jason Bourne movie, or the chicken fight in Family Guy.

Yeah, well they are crazy. And so vivid they are creepy. I had this one dream where after exploring a crumbling mansion and initiating a hide and seek roleplaying game, I end up meeting a ghost child who leads me to a balcony where a handsome ghost in victorian attire tells me that I was his reincarnated wife and asks me to return and raise his children....

I had another dream where I was an entertainment fighter, almost like a slave in that we would only go out when were required to fight like gladiators, except we fought one on one over pits of lava, and if you fell in the lava you were reincarnated and forced to fight again.

I had another dream where I was pursued almost the entire time by werewolf shapeshifters who chased me from my home, which actually looked like my home all the way to some unknown cave.

I wonder if this is any proof that I'm insane...

Without knowing anything else about you (like how much violent video games, TV, movies, etc. you consume, which will change the content of your dreams), I'd assume that if those dreams have an anxious/confused tone to them, then it's because there's anxious/stressful things in your everyday life which you're not thinking about.

On a couple occasions, I've had something which was stressing me, and I distracted myself from it or buried it in the back of my mind. Then, sure enough, I had either a nightmare or a dream where I was wandering through a maze-like plot searching for something.

That does make sense... I don't know how I ended up with the fighting one since I had that one when I was like 12 or so. I blame it on pokemon.
