I usually use the term. You carved little holes in my heart.
I still care for people even though I might not like them very much.
Or maybe looks like I don't, but in reality I do very much.
That's really sweet. You should tell that to whoever's left that stony little space empty.

an image that has always haunted me is of a stone heart cracked and bleeding- as if the crack is necessary in order to peel off the shell and free the living, bleeding, true heart.
though there are many cultures that believe even stone has a spirit, is a living being. perhaps that applies more, idk. in that case, perhaps instead of smashing the whole you could patch it up with cement or something, even if it's not quite the same. good luck.

How do you think the one extreme of a hard heart compares to the other end... a heart that is easy to hurt, and loves everyone.
