What's your greatest fear?

I've been wondering what my 'greatest fears' are for a long time, I think actually realizing anything about them would be very illuminating. But I can't think of a single thing. Rejection in all its forms is the best I can think of, but it doesn't really fit well enough to be called greatest. I know I have them, I just can't figure out what they are.

Well, I'm sure my fears are not of a unique character, so I want to hear about your fears, if you're willing to talk about them and give a short explanation.

That's an easy question for me. Losing loved ones, in any way. Losing them to death, the end of a friendship, the end of a romantic relationship, physical distance, emotional distance, etc. I've lost more people in my life than I feel I should have at this point, and a couple of years ago I realized that I was manifesting my grief for that fact as a fear of losing people I care about.

I would have to agree with sunshine alot on this one. Rejection/losing a really close friend or lover is difficult for me to handle. But I'm working on that

I fear many things but my biggest fear is being disliked in real life. I tend to have minor panic attacks and become inarticulate when I am with someone who dislikes me.

Weee, I found a nice page while researching this a bit. While slowly following the text and various links to the bottom, it really started to play with my head, and I'm never really affected by things like this. Really, it covers everything from nasty parasites, rape, the most painful venoms in existence to the philosophical concepts of eternal life / oblivion. And other things that make those pale in comparison. And all of them are real life examples. A really nice collection of things to fear, I'll give it that.

My greatest fear is what I believe is everyone's greatest fear: space aliens who impregnate kenyan women and teach their children islamic-socialist-fascist principles and then forge hawaiian birth certificates for them so they can run for president, in which event they will increase taxes on the richest americans by three percent, forcefully provide healthcare for every american, and make Islam the state religion.

It's only obvious.

My greatest fear is of being totally wrong about my religious beliefs, and dying, only to find that I am not saved, and the demons that have been harrassing me since childhood were only allowed to do so because it was always understood that I would belong to them someday anyhow.

I am also terrified that God isn't what I think He is, and that the very young who died before they had any choice or awareness, might not be saved, meaning that even if I were saved, I would just spend eternity hating myself and resenting God for the permanent loss of my unborn child.
