So I thought of a really interesting question...

and I am very interested to see your answers. :)
If you didn't care what anyone thought of you, what do you think you would be like?

How do you think you would treat others...
    What would you dress like....
    How would you act....

Anything. It's interesting seeing how much what people think about you affects you.

I don't care what anyone thinks of me, so I would be just as I am. If anyone assumes that a person with no regard for the opinion of others would mistreat others, they are overlooking the importance of self image.

I am who I am and love it.

hmm. i dont think I would really be much different. Although I do care what people think of me (as much as I try not to), I dont think it really changes how I act or present myself.

I'd probably be more expressive in general. If people were unable to respond/react to my words and actions, within reason of course, I would be more spontaneous and complimentary.

My clothes already have little to do with anyone else's opinion, although if people didn't react to it at all, I'd probably be more willing to wear a wider range of colors/styles/etc. At the moment, I tend to wear clothes that allow me to disappear more easily. I like color but dislike a lot of attention. The two are often mutually exclusive.

I would probably treat others similarly to how I do now, except (as I said above) I would be more comfortable giving compliments. Criticism would come more easily if I could somehow "force" the person to not take it personally, otherwise your hypothetical situation doesn't effect that.

    Edit:
I seem to be incapable of giving relatively neutral compliments. Either they stay in my head or I somehow manage to overstate things and come across as creepy/flirty/etc. If the other person's opinion has no bearing, I'd ignore that fact and give them anyway.

Tbh, I would probably care less about my appearance. Sad, but true. I still feel somewhat compelled to polish it up for fear that I'd never really be accepted by anyone of the opposite sex if I did not. Sucks.

I would also tiptoe around peoples emotions less.

If I weren't to care at all what others thought of me, I'd then be free to just be ME without all the added social-buffer aspects I've adopted to translate that "me" more effectively and to ensure I'm better-received by others.

In short-- I wouldn't be any different. It's not even a matter of being differently, or of adding/changing anything (tendencies, likes, inclinations, etc.) that exists within me presently, but of doing away with the already-added (and needless) sense of social propriety I've been conditioned [beaten over the head with] to uphold.

I guess this is a backward way of saying "I would be more assertive, expressive, and less needlessly polite."

I'd probably give up trying to become more emotionally expressive...

(I do this still) For the former i would treat others the same way i have treated them since i was eight. With compassion as befitts the new me or scolding and anger which was the old me
(I do this still) For the middle i would and actually do wear the same thing day after day to school.
(I do this still) I would conentrate on my work and branch out into other academic areas.

    Girli,

In grade school, every year I would tell myself that I will be someone new, someone I wouldn't be able to recognize this year

someone I would lose sight of even when I am in a room full of 6 foot tall mirrors

    so believe me

    I would not change

I said this in another thread,

no matter how hard we try to not be ourself, our deep contentions and conflicts will surge out of our impulsive hearts and tongues, our being will try to fight against it and sooner or later, it will fall apart

    not the mask

but the glue that was used to stick together that not so new mask of oblivion
