    Reading: Books vs. The Internet

Do you think there's really a large difference between reading books and reading information on the internet?
While it is often hard for books to keep my attention, the internet seems to be able to satisfy my craving for information since it is so limitless.

    depends on the book

Both have their advantages – the internet gives more access to a wider range of information, and it is probably easier, but you can be more certain that what you read in a book is true. I also often enjoy reading from paper rather than reading from a screen.

If it is creative stuff then the Internet has an abundance.. If it is facts.. I will scour the most responsible Internet groups and the academic departments of most institutes to get the details.. Otherwise I would just dismiss what is unnecessary.

The Internet is great because if you want to know something you can look it up right away. I spend more time reading on the Internet than I do reading books. My hiusband is a bookaholic. Our house is so full of books that there's no room or money left for much else! He tends to prefer fiction, and loves to lose himself in books. I read mainly for information. It's uaually only when I've come to a dead end on the Internet (can't find any new info on a topic) that I turn to books for more in-depth information.

The internet just for the sheer amount of information available in minutes. It's constantly growing and evolving. Books when there is more information I want to gather and I can't find anything in depth enough. Plus, if I'm going to be reading a book's worth of information then I want to get a little more comfortable than sitting at a computer.

    The Internet is cheap.

Books are not necessarily expensive, but yeah, the internet is cheaper.

One thing, though, about books, is the paper. Ah the smell of book paper (brand new or otherwise).

I don't know. I have not read a good book in a while, but I have read novels on the internet. I believe that books will die out and everything will be online so its good that you like the internet more.
