Some people may look at your avatar and think it's just a ninja springing into a handstand, but from a symbolic stance I see it differently. The main idea surrounding your avatar is that no matter how many things out of your control are pulling you down, only you can choose whether to accept that they'll pull you down and there's no escape, or you can have the choice of holding your own and standing through adversity. To a degree, everything portrayed in the photo is displayed in such a way to illustrate a pull closer to the ground: long growing hair, rain falling from the sky, slouched pants falling near sole of foot, and the weight of the man. Most if not all of these things are unchanging realities to him hitting the ground. The only difference pressed against him not falling down, if he chooses so, is his own will to let the outside factors do him a misfortune and hit the ground. For the time being, it is a still life photo, which could possibly represent that he is figured smack in the middle between either falling to the ground or standing up. I like for it to stay a still life, b/c he gives reassurance that, even if he chooses to fight against not falling, there is a chance he may fall. Man is a not a perfect creature and is prone to mistakes, more often so when he gives up on himself and makes excuses for his downfall because of external stimuli, like the rain pounding on his skin, the long hair dangling, and the weight he has to hold down, though painful, just to keep his composure. It's about keeping a balance in life. There are always going to be things pulling you down, but the reality is to accept responsibility for your actions and eliminate, to the best of your accord, that inevitable is inevitable. |
