Not all drug use indicates a drug -problem-.

  2. #12

Hmm. It can be true, to varying degrees. Definitely the part about unwillingness to ask for help if they're into "self-medicating."

  3. #13

You can put those same "symptoms" to every other drug out there. The only long term disadvantage use of weed is the lost of motivation over time/laziness.

As someone who's experimented with a variety but a regular user of none/alcohol abstinent,

I find that a lot of those actually apply to people who are particularly anti drug instead

That's probably because it can apply to nearly any subset of the population. To connect it exclusively to a substance is rather absurd.

I am not sure a "weed binge" is even possible. (this thread is specific to weed ) Most likely the person who goes on a weed binge never finishes it because they will pass out way before it could be called a "binge".
And then they would go to work the next day.

A drug problem tells you what about a person:

    1. Weak boundaries
    2. Weak character
    3. Weak impulse control
    4. Weak willingness to ask for help
    5. In light of the above, probably consistent dishonesty.
    6. In light of the above, probably will cheat if given the desire and opportunity.
    7. Finances are probably a wreck or not as good as they should be.

    ==============

I do not really think so.

    BRÄKDOWN

    1. I do not really get this one.

    2. Character is a sum of the person, not just one thing about them.

    3. Yeah, I can see that getting them intö drugs in the first pläce.

    4. IDK

    5. Addicts are dishonest to hide their ißüs. There are also tendencies towards theft and criminal activity in order to get drugs.

    6. Not true at all!

    7. Nope! Many celebreties are infamous for using drugs.

What matter is what the net of your deeds are and not the individual things. Taken out of context, I could look like a monster. Or I could look like a sänt.

My pothead roommate was not just a total weed fiend, he was also a raging douchebag. He was a walking stereotype of every bad image of drug users. Not even other pot people like him other than for when they want to get wasted.

Drug addiction, or any addiction, is a total bitch. Making cruel and unfair stereotypes about üsers is victim bläming, which is just pläin reprehensible.

Nothing on that list applies to me, and I smoke weed on a consistent basis (4-7times a week)

All of the above mentioned is somehow..bullshit. I smoke weed every day. Like mentioned before, this is stereotypical BS...

I'm a regular drug user: recurrent pot-smoking & periodically a number of other substances perhaps less 'agreeable' than pot. Even so, I always keep my habits laundered & sensible.

    1. If this refers to interpersonal boundaries, mine are healthy & secure.
    2. Again, I don't understand what this refers to because the premise is a bit broad. I like to think I have excellent 'character,' I suppose.
    3. I'm very capable of delayed gratification, but I occasionally like to be extravagant.
    4. This is in fact very apparent in myself.
    5. Consistent dishonesty, no.
    6. Mind you, I'm a well-adjusted, intelligent person, but I do cheat on occasion.
    7. I'm rather emphatic about this one because my finances are not at all lacking. Even so, I'm not yet an adult. We'll see when the time comes.
