Christmas Present Policy

So with Christmas coming up, was curious to know what do you do around presents. Are you someone who buys lavish gifts for everybody you like? Or do you only buy gifts for family and close friends? Or just family? Alternately, do you make gifts?

For me my preference is to buy something for my family and close friends. In my case I usually make everyone a Mix CD (this started when I was a student, and couldn't afford gifts, so made everyone personalised CDs, but people liked them so much that they wanted them even when I was back to buying gifts). I usually don't spend a lot of money on each person though; enough for a DVD or Book or such. The important thing is it is something I think the person will really like.

What actually happens varies though, sometimes if money is short, I cut the presents to family only, and give friends mix CD's.

Family & close friends for me, usually I buy them.
I tend to put too much thought in them too lol.

I tend to forget until the last minute (im not christian) and then kick myself in the butt when i realize i dont have enough time to actually find something special for each person. I tend to give gifts to my close friends (not to my family cause they arent christian either :P)

Heh, yeah I'm not christian either, but I just really like Christmas. I like giving people things they like :D

I only buy for family. I make gifts like mix cds and books for friends. When I do get gifts I make sure it is something that my family wants. Nothing pisses me off more around Christmas than getting something I do not want and will never use. I gave you my wish list for a reason, darnit. Buy something off of it.

Christmas is my favorite holiday, so I want to put an effort to it. I send self-made christmas cards practically to all my relatives and friends. Presents I tend to make myself or buy books. I don't think much of the money when it comes to buying/making presents to my closest family members but that doesn't mean I especially want to give expensive gifts. I just want to give my loved ones the present they really enjoy to have.
