Do names really matter???

How do you feel about your name? Do you like it? Have you changed it or altered it in any way? Does your name suit you? Does it have sentimental meaning to you? Does it describe you? Do you even care about your name? Is it just a marker to call people by?

I mean your real name. You don't have to tell us it, I just want to know how you feel about it.

I hate my name. It sounds ugly to me and nobody can spell it.

I like my name, mainly because I'm named after my grandmother. She died before I was born, so it's kind of the only connection I have with her. I'm not sure if a name can completely describe someone, but I guess mine does fit me. You can't get an idea of who a person is by there name, but still, I feel like it's more than just a label or marker to identify that person.

I forget where I read or heard it, but someone said that there is power in a name; that once you know someones name all you have to do is say it and then their attention will be on you. From there, you can ask them anything. Whether or not they'll do what you ask or respond to your question is another thing entirely, but for a few seconds at least, their entire focus is on you.

I sorta like the idea of being renamed at some point in one's life. By an s.o.

I don't feel anything about by name. Yes, i like my name.My real last name seems more like a religious name, so i don't use it.I altered the last name in facebook.I think my name suites me.It is not having any sentimental meaning to me.

It's just a marker. Full name for family, shortened nickname for friends.

I was sort of named after a 70s rock band, but it's also a pretty common name. Relatives call me the 6 letter version, friends/other call me the shortened 3 letter version.

I'm glad my parents named me Super Captain McAwesomeSauce.

My name is Vasili Syrakis ... say it aloud. It's amazing <3 I love my name.
