Hmmm well I was looking for how to say certain words in different languages, and I thought of the word "wild." I liked how it sounded in Portuguese, so I picked it (Selvagem).
However, after I got the name and stuff, I decided to look up selvagem again, and I realized it meant savage too, and that wasn't really the kind of wild I was thinking about.
I kinda wish I could change my username, haha.

I think you can ask Lance to have the name changed, but I like Selvagem anyway.
Nightriser simply refers to my nocturnal nature and 13 is a favorite number. It's prime, a Fibonacci number, and sort of pops up a lot in my life (12 and 13). Nothing terribly fascinating there. | |

Omg, I didn't even notice the 13 
And, yeah I'm sure you can change your username, because Beloved was David.
I wanted a weird name and and I like the Pink Floyd song called Alan's Psychedelic Breakfast, this song came to mind when I was selcting my username. I love surrealism and the song name influenced the rest of my name and reinforced my idea of using the word surreal. | |

As a Philosophy minor at my college I took the Modern Philosophy course this past semester. The name "Res" refers to a philosophy by the staunch philosopher Rene Descartes that we studied, in which Descartes speaks of Res Cognitans and Res Extensa to explain his philosophy on Dualism. In short, Dualism is the idea that the mind ( I - "a thing that thinks" - Res Cognitans) and body (World - "material self" - Res Extensa) are separate and operate independent of each other. "I" do not have to depend on the world to truly exist.
I chose "Res" in a symbolic sense to reflect Descartes' inner workings of the two - to form an integrative one name of a think that thinks and a material self. So, I am everything. Though it is somewhat vague, the word "Res" encompasses a lot of hidden meanings for me. I engage in a lot of deep thoughts when reading most anything philosophy, where I tend to feel most comfortable. And this name had a nice fit to it, so wha la. | |
