And you can only pick one thing :)
I actually can't decide on just one thing. I think it would be for everyone I love to be happy. But there is also the ability to go back in time so I can stop myself from making the mistakes I've made, but I don't think it's wise to meddle with the past. So I don't know...
    What about you lot?

A woman who loves me as much as I love them.

    * apparently I need to define this as a woman to get jiggy with.

    Love.

Hm, wait. That's apparently too short to post so I'll have to say "world annihilation".

TreeBob, you might also want to add "and they love me a lot", or something like that onto the end. Otherwise this could end up as a spoiled wish.

'A' woman or several of 'them'?

To find my place in the world. I think I'm making leeway in that direction, but there are literally times where I'll reflect on how I thought I'm perfectly happy with where I am in life, and then sometimes even the next day to feel completely not at home with myself. I think that is my perfectionist attitude shining through in my personality more than anything. I suppose being able to accept that I'm not perfect can be a daunting task for me. Some days I'll have staunch realizations with myself. Little ideas will pop into my head like, "Aha, I found my place in this world!" - only to feel dissatisfied and/or not fully clinging to any set value system.

I'm longing for that day where I'll wake up one morning and feel content with who I am, and not have these on and off sensations, where I feel I established a sense of self only to be disappointed shortly after coming to that realization.

I remember reading a quote from Silhouetree's old signatures which has stuck with me every time I go through these phases.

"Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony." --Mahatma Gandhi

If anything, that is the kind of peace I'd want to have with myself -- being able to let go of any insecurities and other sources of unhappiness, and just live day in and day out feeling like a new man.

For me, it would be enough money to be independent. This means having enough money to:

    - Work in a job I love, rather than something I hate and can't leave due to my financial obligations

    - Marry someone I truly love, without caring whether we'd be able to manage financially. Or even, to have the option of not marrying, if I don't meet anyone who makes me happy

    - Support my children and spend adequate amounts of time with them

    - Retire without having to depend financially on my children

    Only one thing, huh?

A happy, healthy and successful relationship with the man that I want to spend the rest of my life with. If nothing else goes well outside of that "bubble", I can still find inner strength and confidence with the relationship that I have with my 'one and only'.
