I think it's just being temporarily less self-conscious. Though oddly I still spell and grammar-check my posts before releasing them into the wild. But thank you nonetheless <3

I'm so glad I'm not a child growing up in the age of facebook with my parents posting my whole life to hundreds of people on the internet.

And it really bothers me when parents brag about their kids on the internet. I mean if it is something big? Go for it. But be sparing. I can't help but feel like a lot of parents are trying to one up each other through their children. Yes this has always happened and always been noxious but now the children can also witness it and have it inform their feelings about themselves. And the posts make this competition and boasting concrete in a way. Years later kids can dig it up.

Well....Actually, here's the thing... My problem is I am mixing 2 systems (that I personally don't see as consistent with one-another) and its messing me all up. I need to pick a system and dedicate to just one. I think I am going to continue with Socionics, and tonight I have really discovered a whole new layer of info.

So, let me get back to yuh ;) lol

Just the beginning here is relevant. You can hear Celie's and Nettie's dreams. Celie kind of doesn't have big pulls like Nettie does ("Nettie: ...with my college degree, I will teach all my children to spell Tennessee" as opposed to "Celie: I'll know a finch from a sparrow, fix a broken wing" and "I wanna sit and do nothing, make you a new dress!"), but still she has wants for her future, the garden, things she is pulled towards in her future... if not as strongly as Nettie is. (I would guess Celie is a 9w8 maybe, and Nettie 2w3.)

    Then there's this one

which is pretty obvious. I don't know if it's the best example because some deadly sins come into play, she has a bloated idea of herself (albeit understandably, given her poor life), she wants to be better than everyone, have that recognized...
but still it's a dream. She wants to meet the wizard, but more than that, she wants that life that the status will bring. And, knowing the further context of the play, what she really really wants is to be able to change her world for the better.

And this isn't really a "dream" but it's sort of my dream

Part of what I want to do with my whole life is to work towards this world. This world where there is more kindness than cruelty, where love is more abundant than hatred, where there is good and soft cushioning for humanity, where everything is okay.

And I mean, so many Disney songs about dreams

Quasimodo's part, his yearning to see beyond his captive place

Really I think you can take so many Disney songs and see their dreams. Cinderella, even with her "dream is a wish your heart makes" song, is actually one of the exceptions. Her dream is to be happy, to not be enslaved, really. Later characters have more specific dreams. Ariel wants to explore and know the outside world. Hercules wants to find his place. Quasimodo wants to live outside... to live a normal life, really. Rapunzel wants to see the lights. Tiana wants to own her own restaurant. Etc etc etc.

That last one is probably the best example.

She needs that so much... even though her mom doesn't quite understand it.

Maybe this helped, maybe not? There's probably a lot of songs about dreaming, these are just some off the top of my head.
Ok, so it's literally just wanting stupid things?
Good, I think I get what dreams are now and I'm glad I don't have them) They annoy me)

    Mm...Ni PoLR?

edit: But thank you for the links! Quite helpful in fact :)

Ok, one of my 'dreams' is to buy a Pumpkin Spice Latte, because I just hear about them and I figure I should know

    But I'm scared now

I'll feel like an impostor or something...I'm sure the barista will see straight through me

I actually haven't come across this problem. I have tons of mommy/parent fb friends and they have genuine pride in their children, but innocently. Just lots of pics and excitement to share them with their friends. Like, "omg... Benji cut his first tooth"; "Im a proud mama! Sarah got an achievement award in reading"; "look at my little slugger *shows pic of kid on the baseball team". I don't see that as annoying etc. I see that as genuinely being proud and excited. :)

(maybe I just haven't witnessed what you have...?)

What exactly is it, that they will see? O.o I mean, with you being so transparent and all lol. They will catch on that you are a Pumpkin-Spice-Latte-Virgin ? *giggle* They are pretty good, and you should totally do it! Be brave! <3
