    Meh.
COW POWA!! -buffs everyone with mark of the wild, then runs off-
That may be true, but the fact that Blizzard can't stick to their storylines makes me have more than a little doubt. They've really ruined what could/was a beautiful story, complete with a good plot. If they can't maintain continuity and avoid serious loopholes, conflicting facts, and other such biazzre fuck-ups when making the game expansions, why trust anyone to be about to make a good movie with it?

Furthermore, how can you say it would be easier for people to identify with humans and night elves over orcs and trolls? I am pretty sure there is a large percentage of players that more than readily identify with their characters, regardless of chosen race.

Besides, look at other movies that have gone over really well with strange main characters. They don't always seem like they'd be likeable, affable characters/races/whatever.

I agree, Blizzard make good franchizes and then mess with their plots until it becomes atrocious. The only one which has survived has been Diablo, just because the first one had no real storyline other than kill Diablo. Even the expansion for Starcraft (Brood War) messed the plot up completely.

True enough. I was more thinking of Blizzard's particular thought process. I'd wager, whatever happens, the "moral message" will be heavy-handed and at the same time ridiculous. I mean...consider Sam Raimi's other movies... >.> I just had a horrible flashback to Peter Parker in Spiderman 3, strutting down the sidewalk to Stayin Alive, and it made my soul die a little.

They might base it on the books. It would harder to alienate half the fan base because everyone teams up to fight the scourge, and even the undeads in WoW are against those guys. It could also be done on the campaigns from warcraft 3, which have very little race vs race, but again mostly race vs evil god minions. I think they should make it after the books, though, because it explains it a little better. Basically, the night elves are stupid and doomed the world.

    Quoted for truth.

I'm also worried about it having some ridiculous moral to teach us as viewers. =_=

yeah, morals in movies suck. i want entertainment, not some douchebags philosophy on life.

it would be nice if the horde wasnt viewed as 'evil' and if it would be an unbias film, doubtful tho.

all i know is the opening sequences for the games just fuckin blew my mind. if they could just make 2 hours worth of that with such graphics, the movie would be fuckin great.

also, at the most random moments in the movie a character should /dance. datd be fookin phunni 2 c diff rasis duin der danse
